Jaguar S Type ES(2004 3.0)

Featured Replies

Does anyone recommend how, when I pick up my first Jaguar tomorrow, I can upgrade it to make it even better looking.

Colin,

How about a young blonde? !

Peter will be back from his five day birthday drinking festival shortly, he has an S type and can tell you all you want to know . But it's a Jaaaag, they all look fab .

ATB,

Trevor ( up the road from you in Devon land)

Hi Colin

When I was looking for my S Type (same age as yours) I came across a couple that had been ‘tarted up’, my instant reaction was to walk away. The designers at Jaguar knew what they were doing, that's why we were attracted to the car in the first place!

My best advice would be to buy the Autoglym Clay Surface Detailing Clay Kit or something similar, a couple of hours carressing that bodywork and you’ll be in love for life.

Happy days ahead.

Thanks Trevor and StrayCat,

I was only thinking about upgrading the alloys to the newer model and maybe the front Grill, and I am sure I will have many hours of fun gentle rubbing and caressing that bodywork , whether it is with a young Blonde, Brunette or Red-Head, or a StrayCat, that has wandered in.

Sorry I didn't realise StrayCat was a Tom Cat!!!

Colin,

This is what James recommends , but whatever you do, the Cornish will have never seen anything like it ! . My Jag was the first one to be spotted in Devon .

I guess all I have to do is polish it,

Thanks everybody.

Cheers,

Colin

Colin,

Bet i'm older than you, the XJ Supersport was a fab car, but was far too big for the cart tracks up here in North Devon .Also, as there's only the two of us, a two seater does us fine .

I got the XJ Supersport mainly to keep 'er indoors happy after the Aston got mangled in the garage when in for a service, as she said she prefers four door, four seater cars. She never liked it from the day I got it,said it didn't look like a proper jag, it had three TV's , a 1200 watt 20 speaker Bowers and Wilkins audio system, plus every other extra going ( it was a Jag directors car), and it was also faster than the Aston . But she moaned for eight months, so I got the XKR, which is just brilliant !

But saying that, all Jags are.

This is the XJ Supersport I had for sale at the Grange in Exeter.

Colin,  The S type is a beautiful car, great to drive, and a great looker, and  was the dream car of Sir William Lyons.  Apart from keeping my car well washed and the paintwork well treated, a small leaping Jaguar on the boot is the only addition,

Just recovering from a 5 day birthday party.

Peter.

Peter, thanks for getting back to me, your Party's sound like fun!

Did you mean to say a small leaping Jaguar on the BOOT?

I thought to have one on the BONNET, but don't know how it's attached.

Picked up my S Type ES today it looks great but some attention is required

On the Bodywork, quite a few small Scratches.

Cheers my Friend and 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY'

Colin

Thanks Colin.

The leaping Jaguar on the bonnet was discontinued by the designers some years ago, but it is a matter of choice whether to fit one or not.  Apparently it is quite easy to attach.  The site to look at is Adamesh.

But the modern Jaguar has one on the boot  ---  a flat design rather than the "figurine".  There is space for a smaller version, about 7/8 cm which comes with an adhesive pad on the back.  It looks good too!.

Regards,

Peter.

Peter,

I thought the leaper was illegal, and we even had a magistrate on these pages that had been fined for it. Don't think one would look too good on the new models though, I think they look far better on the proper Jags (as the wife calls them) like your S type. got a flat one on the boot, and two etched into the headlight glass though.

ATB,

Trevor
