  1. Hi Mark, When I lived in Yorkshire I had 9 Ford Escorts [Company Cars] with the 1.3 engine. I found that it was one of the best ovens on the road. Having to travel up to Scunthorpe regularly and down into the Nottingham area, I got fed up of taking sandwiches and looked for another solution. So Chicken drumsticks & thighs, sausages, pork chops etc would be wrapped in foil and put into a Cadbury's Fingers Tin, and held in place on the exhaust manifold with a straightened out wire coat hanger They would be beautifully cooked in two hours. I was thinking of writing recipes for cooking in the engine bay of cars. Peter.

  2. I certainly am Andy. I think it suits the S Type admirably. No drama drilling the bonnet either. Small pilot hole, then a tank cutter - simples.

  3. That is useful to know, Garry/Ian. There is a list of recommended independent specialists in the Jaguar Owners Lounge, so could you add them to that list with their full address and contact numbers. Peter.

  4. Rust on sills, front wings and bonnet. Make sure everything works as it should, just like any other car really. Don't be too concerned if it's got satnav as its rubbish in the early cars and is non updatable. Make sure gearbox goes up and down smoothly with no "lurch" Let us know what price and spec it's got for more accurate advice. Also, ask yourself this, does it really need to be a 4.0?? The 3.0 is a bit better on fuel and still makes all the right noises!!
