  1. Thanks..I luckily have the original sales invoice from the first owner’s son but require information from owners since 1959, especially George Taylor the last owner who had the car for 34 years..He would be 82 now..
  2. Good pointers, thanks. Will be a few days before I'm working on this one again - but plenty to explore. Gets me thinking though whether I can even trust the timing marks on the pulley. So better confirm that as well.
  3. Thanks Julie. Cruise is now behaving itself and working fine, but now I know where to look in future. Sat nav , cd , radio etc are still not working. trying to sort that out.
  4. Hello Gordon, Welcome to Jaguar Owners. I have found some information that may be useful. This can be caused by a number of different issues. Most of the time this is caused by a bad brake switch. If the switch is shorting out, then it will cause the computer to think that the brakes are being applied, which turns off the cruise control. If the switch is fine, then it may have a bad speed sensor or the cruise control switch itself is bad. One of the easiest tests I do is simply have someone drive behind me and see if the brake lights are coming on without touching the pedal. If it is, then you should replace the switch. If not, then further testing of the circuit has to be done https://mechanicbase.com/troubleshooting/cruise-control-is-not-working

hi ideally you need to check that the fuel pump is still running when it cuts out you need to find the pump and when it stops confirms its running , if not, check voltage at the pump, if theres no voltage, check as above, check all connections, fuses, relays, have a look here for manuals and wiring diagrams http://www.jagrepair.com/ cheers Joe
