  1. Hi Delboy Welcome to the club! Hope to see you posting many more questions in the future and hopefully we, or some members can help you. Let us know how you get on with your XF. Regards Trevor
  2. Hi Darrel .....and welcome to the club! Look forward to hearing from you, whether its technical advice or just updates on your Jag. Regards Trevor
  3. Hi Dave I cannot find a simple fix solution for your Jaguar's problem....I think it may be prudent to drop the car into an electronic specialist who could scan the system to point you in the right direction. Let us know how you get on with this strange fault. Regards Trevor
  4. This may help?.....let us know how you get on...Thanks http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/uksafetycameras-jaguar-xf.php
  5. Hi Alastair Welcome to the club! There are some tutorials manuals for SatNav systems in this forum that may be worth checking out http://www.jaguarownersclub.com/forums/topic/8952-sat-nav-destination-how-to-guide/ Regards Trevor
  6. Hi Paul...and welcome to the club! I would enlist the services of an auto electrical specialist if possible. The vehicle wiring system is pretty well balanced for resistances, etc. If you plug another device into the system it may alter the balance and cause errors further up the line. If the device you have is CanBus approved then it should be ok to just follow the wires to the bulbs and attach into the correct one. Regards, Trevor
  7. there is one on ebay for a six litre sovereign but I would try to repair the existing one... a lot cheaper. You may still be able to find someone who can replace a radiator core unit as they should be able to carry out the repair Regards Trevor
  8. Hi Brian I have found a link that should give you the information about the car...trying to find one may be a little harder though. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaguar_X-Type
  9. This is very true...and then character Austin Powers materialised! :)

  11. Hi This sounds a strange one! My first thoughts are brake pads slightly binding. I would jack up the wheel area and turn the wheel to hear if there are any noises, wobble the wheel side to side and up and down to check for freeplay in any bushes/joints/links. Beyond that, I'm not entirely sure what it could be. Maybe worth putting in the garage for a diagnosis if concerned. Regards, Trevor
  12. Well said Keith...I always advocate...check the basics first! Most of the time it can be a simple (and cheap) fix.
  13. I would suggest tapping into the original power supply for the radio as this will be set up for this purpose. Possibly the best method is to get an adapter plug that will connect your DAB radio and the original vehicle socket.

  15. The C-X17 crossover is just the start of an ambitious growth plan for Jag read the full article below http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/jaguar-future-2013-10-08
  16. I would monitor it for a while and if it doesn't occur again then maybe put it down to the strain on the engine?
  17. I would imagine if it is stuck with corrosion then replacement is the best method. I have found there are quite a few on ebay at the moment...quite reasonably priced! http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR1.TRC0.A0.Xjaguar+s+type+heater+valve&_nkw=jaguar+s+type+heater+valve&_sacat=0&_from=R40
  18. The removal procedure on some vehicles is to remove the complete unit and install a straight through section.
  19. Hi Alan Firstly, welcome to the club! Secondly, that sounds like a severe transmission fault or a loose/broken stabiliser bar or mounting. I would imagine that the garage will check the obvious first but worst case scenario it may result in a replacement gearbox. Hopefully its not the latter. Please let us know the outcome Regards, Trevor
  20. test your car badge knowledge...easy one to start with - British cars
  21. If anyone would like a FREE sticker...then just send an email to: [email protected] with your name and address and we'll dispatch one to you. All we would ask, is for you to upload a photo of your car proudly displaying the Jaguar Owners Club sticker to place in our Gallery :)
  22. Have you got any pictures of the E Type that you could upload to the forum....would love to see it !
  23. Hi Alan I would agree...get a second opinion, possibly their equipment could be faulty or out of calibration? Additionally, there are so many other factors that can affect the geometry when being measured....loading of the car, weight distribution, worn suspension components (bushes, springs, dampers, link arms, etc). I would imagine if any suspension components are damaged by the pot hole then it would be a case of replacement of the damaged parts before re-aligning. Please let us know how you get on. Regards, Trevor
  24. Hi James Welcome to the club ! You seem to be working your way through the Jaguar range :) Much damage to the last one or just superficial? Regards, Trevor
