  1. Have you got any pictures of the E Type that you could upload to the forum....would love to see it !
  2. Hi Alan I would agree...get a second opinion, possibly their equipment could be faulty or out of calibration? Additionally, there are so many other factors that can affect the geometry when being measured....loading of the car, weight distribution, worn suspension components (bushes, springs, dampers, link arms, etc). I would imagine if any suspension components are damaged by the pot hole then it would be a case of replacement of the damaged parts before re-aligning. Please let us know how you get on. Regards, Trevor
  3. Hi James Welcome to the club ! You seem to be working your way through the Jaguar range :) Much damage to the last one or just superficial? Regards, Trevor

  7. Oh my word!!! what a way to drive a legendary machine
  8. Hi Franco Oh dear! you are having a few problems. Firstly, the stereo/satnav issue may not be directly related to the door locking fault. The door locking/unlocking issue I would hazard a guess as being a faulty door lock mechanism (internal microswitch fault) which can cause all the issues if it doesn't recognise a door being in the closed position. You could try spraying WD40 into the latch mechanism to disperse any water and potentially clean the contacts. To effectively diagnose the problem further, an electronic scan of the body control system by an auto-electrician should isolate the exact cause of the fault...which is preferable to randomly replacing suspected components. Let me know how you get on with spraying the door latches. Regards, Trevor
  9. I'd agree with Mick T and have the DPF removed aswell as having the remap which should transform the car!
  10. Definitely sounds like removing the DPF and remap is the way forward then.....also removing cats should increase power/torque output.
  11. Hi Mick T Ebay have some kits available for your car. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw=hid+lighting+kit&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.Xjaguar+hid+lighting+kit&_nkw=jaguar+%23hid+lighting+kit&_sacat=0 However, a couple of things to be aware of...unless they are compatible with the Canbus electronic system of your vehicle then this can result in errors being generated in the system. Also, the HID kit isn't really road legal as it cannot dip automatically when going over bumps/inclines and also if the weight distribution changes within the car and can lead to dazzling the oncoming traffic. Therefore, they shouldn't really go through the MOT test. They do however, produce a lot better light and illuminate far better than halogen. Regards, Trevor
  12. Hi Bloodnock It sounds like carbon deposits within the air intake system causing your idle problem. The intake manifold tends to suffer from carbon and is easily rectified by removing it and cleaning with a degreaser. Also, check all breather pipes are clear and also secure (no splits, kinks, etc). I would start there before condemning any electronic components. Regards, Trevor
  13. Hi Martin I have found a few bits and pieces for your car on eBay. You should be able to source a readily available Copper-Hide hammer from a good tool shop for a reasonable price. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JAGUAR-3-8-4-2-E-TYPE-TOOL-ROLL-/260474671129?pt=UK_Car_Interior_Accessories&hash=item3ca5801019 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-JAGUAR-XKE-E-TYPE-TOOL-ROLL-/251338176397?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a84ec378d and various listings for tool kits http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR1.TRC0.A0.Xe+type+jaguar+tools&_nkw=e+type+jaguar+tools&_sacat=0&_from=R40 Regards, Trevor

  16. lol...great analogies! In reference to the wireless headphones...I imagine that they would be able to be used anywhere within the car (assuming they are Bluetooth linked to the devices). I have attached a link to a Jaguar 'How to Guide' in this post which may assist in programming your devices to the car. Regards, Trevor http://www.jaguarownersclub.com/forums/topic/8959-jaguar-audio-connectivity-how-to-guide/
