It could be due to a number of issues. How old is the battery, would check here first it can be an early sign it on its way out. Does stop start work, assuming its on your model.

Next guess would be a faulty sensor a there are a number linked up to the DSC, worth plugging in a code reader to see if anything obvious. Have heard of the ABS cable failing on older cars, another place to check too.

It could be a faulty sensor somewhere (temperure one) which is tricks the car into thinking it is overheating putting it into limp mode.

I assume the car is not actually overheating, worth plugging in a car code reader to see if anything pops up error wise, can also read temperture of the car too to see what its doing.

At least you found the issue and sorted it. 

Could be, suspect it will flatten your battery before you get a chance to put it back in? May have to disconnect battery but that may give you other issues.

Assume its a diesel? 3ltr?

Probably a faulty relay would be my best guess. Not sure the setup on these cars, but probably where I would start looking, others may have better ideas.

Can only talk about the engine in the XE which was the lower 2ltr diesel engine, 2016 plate, but was very good, could get 70+ mpg on motorway run and decent around town, normally in the 50+ range.

Sadly, I think Joe is right here, not sure there is an option unless you pay for some heavy customisation which will likely be very expensive.

Very low mileage diesel would worry me as they need to be driven to stop them clogging. How many miles has she done?

Would also be a little nervous with no service history, engines are good, but like most cars need to be serviced regularly.

When you say cosmetically lacking, what does that mean, does the exterior/interior look like the low mileage.

Car may be perfect, but what you describe would trigger some alarm bells to ask more details. If car has been serviced by Jaguar franchise, may find service history online through Jaguar, my entire service history is on their system.

Could try the fuse, but could be knackered. Did you not just purchase the car, could try get the dealer to fix, suspect they won't but worth asking.

Check the window is fully up and then check all your seals around the window and the strip along the bottom. Is it only at certain speeds or any building up the wind noise?

Does not sound great. Where is the rattling coming from and what sort of sound is it making? 

They are battery hungry cars the XF. Need to either put a trickle charger, or go for a long drive. Kwik fit and others do free battery checks, doubt you would need both batteries changed.

Not sure there are lots of options, assume your system similar to my 2013 car, the head unit in the jag is hooked up to a lot of things so will probably loose some functionality if you can find a unit that will fit nicely .

Others may have more experience, but I struggled to find any real good options when I looked.

You also need to subscribe to a Jaguar service for this function to work. Only works on automatics, found that out when I owned a manual XE 🙂

Did you buy a car from a garage? 

Can you see underneath the car to see where it dripping from?

Could be a number of reasons, if battery is fine, probably would start with the fuel pump and making sure it working correctly, could be a faulty valve etc.

Point to point testing on a strip of road normally, but I would take as a guide only, many factors can influence.

In my XF sports mode holds the gears longer and dynamic mode improves throttle response and speeds up gear changes too I believe along with stiffer suspension. 

No I dont believe so. You have to press the button on the device to take them, then it uses car speakers and mic on device to chat away. Same with music, cannot switch track only via phone which is not ideal. Volume control on steering still works.

You may still be able to, does the 2011 have a 3.5 aux port? If so, can plug in a device that you can play via bluetooth and take calls for £15 or so, used on a 2004 merc. 

If not similar other devices for different ports, not sure can get anything for an old Apple ipod port though.

I don't know about 5mm or 6.3mm question, but xfrs should not have this issue as it used the newer engine setup found on the F-type R etc
