  1. Have had a further thought, probably "stretching things a bit", but there was once a Suzuki model imported to GB (small jeep 4x4/semi utility) and it was named Suzuki SJ. A tenuous connection but the SJ`s did become very wanted and collectable, mainly due to their simplicity and durability. A very tenuous connection, but who knows there could be someone looking for a registration number for that model ????? Regards, John
  2. Not instantly recognising the importance of SSJ. Recalling the early years of Jaguar there was an SS model, but where the J would come into that I am not aware. The problem was that the Jaguar SS was eventually associated with the !Removed! German war regime and Jaguar had to drop the SS name because of that very matter. As it happens the SS model was a gorgeous looking car and in todays market are worth a fortune. All I could suggest is that you contacted one of the many dealers in registration numbers and seek a valuation from them. A lot of any value could well be, or not be, in the remainder of the Registration Number which, for understandable reasons, you have not quoted. Good luck with your quest and Best Wishes, Regards, John.
  3. Anthony, many thanks for the positive comment and hope it was oh help. Regards, John
  4. Paul, It would be good to know what you think of their charges, abilities and customer service. Good Luck, Regards, John
  5. Paul, I live in Gloucestershire and the only Independent Jaguar Specialist I know of is Swallows, just south of Bristol, in Somerset. https://swallows-jag.co.uk. There is also one at Kidderminster https://offmoreroadgarage.co.uk I have not personally used either of them so cannot vouch for their expertise or customer service. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  6. Try reading the error code to see what it advises. Regards, John
  7. You do not say why you have removed the sensors, but presumably because you think they are faulty. I have submissions on this forum concerning exhaust emissions on bank 1 (left bank) and associated catalytic converter problems, that I experienced and cured on my S-Type. If you suspect the sensor (Upstream or downstream) your first step should be to read any codes that are entered, via your OBD 11 connection. Usual you get Yellow Management Light on clock and when read is usually, depending on which Bank of cylinders is at fault, a Code P0240 or P0230. If the sensors or sensor are/is faulty your best long term fix is to replace them with new. Whatever you do make certain they are a good make, preferably OE specification and at avoid the cheap Chinese products that are offered on the likes of Ebay etc. Good Luck and Best Wishes, Regards, John
  8. "Bite the bullet" and replace plugs and ignition coils. As you will need the inlet manifold off, you will need new manifold gasket/s as well. Had one cylinder on bank 1 misfiring and left it whilst I tried to find other reasons and it killed the Catalytic Converter. I eventually replaced all six plugs, coil packs and manifolds. Problem cured. Then had to replace the cat as that kept showing a code P0420 (Low efficiency left bank). Dear job but well worth it as the car has been wonderfully smooth and powerful ever since. There are numerous posts which I put on this Forum about what I did and went through to cure my S-Type of this problem Good Luck with sorting your car, Regards, John
