I found Warrenty Direct to be good and cheap :)
-
I think you will find an advert as well on the website, I paid £35 from mine from my XJ 6 instead of £250 to Jaguar which to me is a considerable saving and it works just as well, I was out in the Jag today and it worked good as gold best, Alastair :)

Look ad the advert on the posting bottom :D

Could it possibly be that your car batteriy is low from time to time if you are not out in it daily?

Age is no barrier to Jaguar drivers. I just thought I'd post this folks, my wife aged 76 took my Jaguar out for a spin today, the day after our golden wedding anniversary, no problems at all. All the controls are very similar to her little Skoda Fabia and she sailed along with the best of them. I just thought I'd post this as an encouragement to the older potential Jaguar owner Best, Alastair :-)

Did you check the fuse with a meter to ensure it was OK?
-
Hi Robinp, please keep an eye on your new tyres and DO tell us if this has fixed the problem Best Alastair
-
This is the most peculiar, have you consulted a Jaguar dealer about this?
-
I had tyre troubles to begin with, and my advice is if you're going to replace tyres which have worn with no good reason, then replace them with something like Pirelli or Michelin's.

My handbook for the XJ six says that I should only switch it on in icy or snowy weather but apparently ABS is incorporated anyway just in the normal running of things, amazing vehicles – – – I now consider BMWs as "fleet cars"
-
Many thanks for posting this, I don't have your particular model of car but it just shows what being persistent does, and exposes Jaguar for not behaving. Obviously you've been one of the reasons why this kit has been brought out – – – well done Very Best Wishes Alastair

A good club could be a great club
Alastair replied to yelnats69's topic in Chit Chat - Non Jaguar Related
Remember this is a newish VOLENTARY site if you go to the OFFICIAL Jaguar site you take your credit card in FIRST to buy the magazine etc as compulsory. This is run by a "Good Guy " who is making a nice informative site. You want an instant answer then join the other people but it will cost you a LOT Please don`t criticise some thing you know very little about Alastair -
Hey didn`t know it was yours Steve -- - -Have a "Good One"

Should petrol stations show the amount of tax?
Alastair replied to Steve's topic in Chit Chat - Non Jaguar Related
I think it would make the public much more aware of the amount of tax there is on a litre of petrol, I think it would be a very very good idea Best, Alastair -
A strange source of motor insurance
Alastair replied to Alastair's topic in Jaguar Insurance Discussions
Just meant also to say I got free car key insurance and RAC cover with my car cover, car keys which are technical now can alone cost over £100 if lost -
Well folks I thought I just mention this as I'm over 50 and got some correspondence from the post office who are now doing motor insurance and my wife has had a couple of "comings together" this year, and her insurers who are the Cornhill have been absolute rubbish. I worked for almost 40 years in the insurance industry, and if you've got a couple of claims in the same year nobody really wants to know you. Interestingly enough the post office underwriters who seem to have access to a number of companies saved a lot of money on my wife's insurance, I'm going to give them my CC details tomorrow and get the deal done before 2 August when it's due. I've written a snotty letter to Cornhill who have been totally idle and at one point said to me "it's cheaper for us to pay the third-party than it is to defend your case". I think that's disgusting Please don't think I'm trying to move people away from the insurers on the site, if you're over 50 it could just be worth of free phone call, it's an 0800 number rather than the usual expensive 0845 best wishes to all members Cheers, Alastair

I just thought I'd post this as a general comment, I know Jaguar dealers are expensive but I was looking on a motor engineering website. They had done extensive tests on genuine Jaguar parts which seemed to last much longer than substitute ones which I know there is probably a vast difference in price as there is in lubricants and stuff. I got some engine oil to the specification required by Jaguar and it was amazingly cheap compared to the Jaguar oil, I think with the hardware one has got to may be take note of the above. Having so said I got a wonderful update on my navigation system for £35 where I think the Jaguar replacement was over £200 Best, Alastair :)
