  1. Also it may have developed a inlet manifold gasket leek.
  2. My 3 ltre fuse is in foot well No 32 and it is a 5amp I think, anyway it is yellow. all I did was to disturb it and it worked. also strangley the second time it went it was the plug in socket that was bad not the fuse. worth thinking about. Stan
  3. I am still positive it is an air leek. That beather pipe I mentioned is not blocked is it, it has a restricter at each end of only a few mm. so it will show same fault has a leek. I had same trouble. Have you had the codes read with obd2 tester.
  4. T o me it sounds like an air leek. try the breather pipe on top of the engine and to where it disappears at back of engine, it has a elbow joint that is a known fault on S Types, you may have to remove it to find fault, usually a small crack. Stan
  5. Well thats the air con fixed, MOT passed for another year. wish I could get answer to cruise control prob. Just a couple more jobs to do for Midlands Meet next month. hope to get my son along with his S Type. Stan
  6. Try Zone Alarm . Extreme Security. Not too expensive. mine works. Stan
  7. I upgraded a couple of days ago, not impressed at first but getting used to it now and finding it ok. I had a windows mobile and so find the layout a lot like that, yes I like it. Never took to win7. xp for me every time. Stan.
  8. Air/con still working fine, Cost me £240 + re gas. now weather is going cold. but what the heck. Stan
  9. I brought this subject up a while ago. when I was out for a drive I drove gently down a curb. five miles or so later I got DSC and ABS warning message. I thought no prob just drive gently, brakes worked ok. as we where on a straight road I thought just try cruise control ( it had never worked while I had it) low and behold it worked. After having wheel speed monitor changed, I tried cruise again , didn't work again. What is the connection, any one help me. because now I have had a/c done, that is the last job to do. Ar`nt I lucky. Stan
  10. Peter. At last air/con fixed, took them three days on and off. but I was quoted £140 so that is what they charged me, including re gas. so cannot complain. But it aint half cold now.
  11. Fine, except that it is illegal to expel a/c gas in to the, must be done by profesional
  12. I will post results later. having them fitted Tuesday. who knows, the pump might want replacing and the air drier. Pipes look ok but like you say Andy. Its in the lap of the gods. My only regret, like Peter I am now too old to DIY.
  13. Thank you all for your vote of confidence.
  14. Er...........Scrapyards have caught on to this spares thing. got a set for £60. another £200 to fit plus re gas. hope she is worth it.
  15. Thanks Peter, I have the part No XR8022786, But like I say, cheaper to buy another car. she will have to forgo that one.
  16. About right Andy, cheaper to buy another Jag.
  17. Hi all. I agree with Peter, before you panic over these little nigely probs Keep that battery absolutely topped up. and wiggle your fuses occasionally. you might be supprised what turns up. especialy the battery, a fraction of a volt can do all sorts of silly things to your S Type. Stan
  18. Can any member help please. I am looking for an aircon pipe, it is the one that comes from behind rear of cylinder head (infact it is a double one) and runs alongside d/s wing. a thick one and a thin one. the thick one goes back to a/c pump and thin one goes to or from even air drier tank. I cannot find one anywhere, apparently it is prone to rotting through, I tried repair but thin pipe is under very high pressure. Stan. Forgot to say. S Type 3 ltr V6. 2000.
  19. I have just emailed Halfords about it, so now awaiting reply. I spent 119 gbp there and the difference between 10% and 15% is better in my pocket than theirs. Keep you posted.
  20. No Andy, I mean the JOC Halfords discount card that promises 15% discount.
  21. Has any one had issues with the Halford Discount Card. I have used mine twice and twice it has only given me 10% Discount, not 15 has promised. I have not realized until back home, and too faraway to go back. Stan
  22. Well guys, not very helpful to suggest the lady should drive to Doncaster, when her car is in bits in Leicester.(only 80 odd miles) I thought that some one could come up with a better idea than that. Clare have you not got the workshop manual on CD. that would give you an idea of the part number. don't know gust suggesting. then perhapes an auto electric guy could make it up. Is there not another Jag freelance in Leicester. other than you know who. Good luck Stan.
  23. I have the same problem exactly. I think that you may have to bite the bullet and buy the pipe, if you can find one. I have heard on another site of some one fibre glassing the pipe which has held for several years and still going. Good luck, and keep us posted if you find the answer.
  24. First time round all these where no good. the answer was to get a product from Halfords that is specific for the job.
