  1. Well guys, not very helpful to suggest the lady should drive to Doncaster, when her car is in bits in Leicester.(only 80 odd miles) I thought that some one could come up with a better idea than that. Clare have you not got the workshop manual on CD. that would give you an idea of the part number. don't know gust suggesting. then perhapes an auto electric guy could make it up. Is there not another Jag freelance in Leicester. other than you know who. Good luck Stan.

  5. I have the same problem exactly. I think that you may have to bite the bullet and buy the pipe, if you can find one. I have heard on another site of some one fibre glassing the pipe which has held for several years and still going. Good luck, and keep us posted if you find the answer.
  6. First time round all these where no good. the answer was to get a product from Halfords that is specific for the job.
  7. No body want a good cheap washing machine then. scrapping this afternoon.

  8. With your symptams I would say it is gearbox oil requires changing, but why it needs to be connected to laptop deludes me. it can be a diy job but difficult. find a better garage. You might as well change filter at same time just in case.
  9. Had`nt even considered that Peter. just had a run out but still urban max 50 mph roads and got 17+.
  10. No there is no Haynes for the S Type. but it should be easy enough to change the , you may have to remove a few radiators first. Work shop manuals in cd form are available on this site. Stan
  11. Changed my air filter a couple of weeks ago, with the hope of probabley getting more mpg. Wrong, for some reason my around town and rural driving has dropped. Any ideas guys. wondered if an additive might help. Stan.
  12. You appear to have definatly gone off Jag Trevor.
  13. :) :) :) Just had abs sensor replaced at my local garage (getting to old to do it myself) and they reset the system and removed messages. all for the magnificent fee of £10.00. working again Happy Bunny. :) :) :) I bought sensor off ebay.
  14. Sounds to me it could be a misfire, seeing has it only does it under load, and not when cruising.
  15. Last week my abs light came on and at the same time got message DSC fault. Fault traced to L/R WHEEL SPEED SENSOR.(I hope). good side is at the same time my cruise control started working which it has never done while I have owned it. I had just driven gentley down a kerb at the time. Stan.
  16. I prefer the quiet mode myself. noisy cars are for the young and foolish, well young anyway. when I put my foot down nothing can be heard. Love it.
  17. How ever did we manage without sensors Peter. Stan.
  18. P 1576 is Pedal position not available. sounds to me like a sensor at the pedal end as opposed to throttle body. Stan

  22. That is my intention next time I top up, it might be worth the extra cost for better performance and mpg . My local garage is BP but you get extra points if you have a Tesco card. I wonder what fuel they are using.
  23. A Happy Christmas to all my facebook friends. and a guid Hogmanay.

  24. That is very interesting, I didn't realize that there was any difference. Will try the premium next time I fill up. I only usualy put in £30 at a time. no point dragging all that weight around on short trips.
