  1. Good on ya Mike. I am just having to change my rear ones I still have a bit of judder. I thought that I had cured it with changing pads that where mutalated. Its hard work when you are in very late seventies, love it though. Regards Stan.
  2. Must get myself a diesel Peter. My 3.0 does half of that. Love it though. The other Stan.
  3. I got a pair of silicone wipers, they are very good. (off e bay)
  4. A lovely looking car, hope it goes as well has it looks. No doubt about it Jag make beautiful cars. Stan.
  5. Steve I would be looking for worn pads, sticking calipers and sticking hand brake mechanism. Try some wd40 or some such thing but keep it of your brake disk and pads.
  6. By the way, Peter. I had given up getting my hands dirty until last week. until I sorted my rear brake distortion. it aint arf hard work now. couldn't move for two days after, worse than tatty picking.
  7. My very first car was a bit like that Peter, a VW beatle imported from Germany in 1946. no hydraulics. no syncromesh.and still in its army colours. Great car. Stan.

  10. Peter is right there Steve. I think that the main reason for your grumbling etc are all down to your brakes. I should give them a good going over, sounds like they are binding and in a right old state. Stan.
  11. Forgot to mention, brake pads where shot as well, this can also give same symptoms. check caliper sliders as well.
  12. I would say it depends on your driving. if you do mainly motorways at high speed perhaps it would be best to buy good new ones. If like me you drive reasonably slow you can buy cheep discs of the internet that are ok. To have them skimmed would probably cost as much. Bye the way it does not mean it is the front brakes. I have just done my rear one done because I had a judder on braking hard. it was warped. Stan.
  13. My s type has 16"wheels but the weights seem flatter than usual and don't catch. I suppose that it depends on the company and their knowledge of these things.
  14. Its not just the getting under, its the getting back up.
  15. Any one with comments on V8, my son is thinking of buying one. Thanks.
  16. Peter. Saying your OBD scanner is duff, is not good for your street cred.
  17. Chips are summat you have with Egg and Sausage. From a Yorkshire man.
  18. Looks like a pair of beauties to me.
  19. If you intend to use it a lot, and on other cars why not go the route of the software and connecting cable to lap top, also to be found on ebay. I am assuming you have a laptop in this day and age,(who hasn't) . I am thinking of doing this. At present I have a Avtop Code Reader. which works fine, but I think the software to laptop is more informative and covers more details. If you buy a good one it not only tells you the fault but shows a picture of where to find the faulty component. Good luck and post us to let us know how you get on. Stan ps. Sorry if I have done you out of your commission Peter
  20. I would have thought that 3k is high at 60mph. my v6 3ltr has a around 2.5 at 70/75. must admit I hav`nt even tried counting them
  21. I think the drivers hand book suggests that the seat is re set, by putting all the button to max and min settings before re setting your drivers position. do not set any drivers setting with seats and steering wheel in exit position. worked for me, but still plays up sometimes.

  24. I am talking about my cat, yes the little cats head badge push button on boot lid. It looks like either a bad fitting or a collectors item, by the amount of Jags that have lost them." Anyway up" I would love to replace it, my pet hate on cars is something missing or does not work. Any one got one they can sell me. Stan.
  25. My S Type is the best thing I have driven in 60 years of driving. Peter.
