  1. yes mate it is , you can do it in less than five mins loosen off the two nuts-slide the blanking in and tighten back up.  now a some members from here and the ford forums have said you should take the egr & the inlet manifold  off and give it a good clean,i didnt bother  but i did use a cleaner in the fuel /injectors  with no set backs or EML light up.

    hope this helps

  2. welcome Robert

as peter has said the xf is a nice car to drive depend on which model you go for  i looked at most models as a returning jag owner before going for the face lift x type estate.

someone will be along to give you all the in/ outs the this model in a while so watch this space so to speak

    welcome again Ron

  3. It appears that my local store don't know their own stocks. Apparently, the items I ordered have been found.

I've just had an e-mail from Halfrauds offering me the items I requested free of charge plus a £25 token for the inconvenience.

    It pays to complain :)

did you email their head office or the local store Paul

  4. i thought only 2.2 & above  had dpf not  2.0  ( i blanked my egr off i think the best £2.95p i have ever spent with very little reduced mpg but much better response on my 2009

2.0  diesel est still getting between 50 - 60 did a 500 mile round trip  +  ( plus running around short trips stop start stuff  ) then back to Berkshire on  just under 3/4 of a tank & the dial was still showing 173 miles left ?  which i think is good .

  10. hi brian

the hose for the turbo on the x type and is located under the battery tray, not sure if its the same on the s type, if its loose or split you may get this noise   your best bet would be to ask old peter (user name) he's had s types for a few yrs.

i only said about turbo hose as my x type had the same sort of noise.

    hope it helps out

i stand corrected guys thought it was a diesel

"I like to use Halfords auto centre, I actually use there Slough branch, but I taken the wife merc to Farnborough. Good thing there brake pads for life, that's your life not the cars. Ie no more paying for pads again"

    Hi Andrew,

I got a quote from Halfords Auto Centre but it was incredibly expensive (£800 for all four wheels)! All the other quotes I got were under £500 for pads and disks. Thanks anyway.

    Nick

if you want to get the parts i have a guy who will charge you a lot less in reading berkshire
