  3. hi Bilal welcome to the club

now to the car it looks very much like a series one xj6/v12 but ive never seen a manual gearbox version with overdrive.

    so i think its a xj6 series 1

looks like you have a big restoration job in front of you

    best of luck.  Ron

  4. hi Julien

firstly welcome to the club im i to assume you brought the hard wire electric linking kit with your towbar  if so it may need a update some models do (MINE didnt need it)  1. may i ask how old the caravan is 2. does the hitch have a auto sway hitch lock 3. you say you now have a heavier caravan is it within the nose weight  mgtw etc etc.

as far as i know the update only did the sensors & the high level light,  but i have an x type 2.0 diesel 2009 so i may be wrong for your model of car  sorry i couldn't help any further

some other member  with an xf may be able to give you the 100% answers your looking for.

  5. well blanking plate is on & egr cleaned out and all seems fine with kitty all in all about one hour cleaning & fitting and the normal cup of tea half way though.

And all is true as far as i can tell the car runs and drives a lot more responsive when you put your foot down with little fuel reduction if any i still got between 56.7 - 60.4 mpg on a 46 mile trip this morning from a cold start on A + B roads stop /starting.

so very happy at the moment and the best £2.95p ive ever spent.

    will keep all updated as & when  :)  :)  :)  :)

(this is on my 2009 x type 2.0)

  6. morning Neil

OUCH" :(  :(   i don't have an s type so i cant comment but no doubt one of our s type members will get back to you asap, & to be sure that does seem a lot of book hours for a sump pan gasket, as they only quote 4.5 hours for a full clutch replacement on my x type at a cost of nearly £800 + vat  i went somewhere else job done For £490 supplied & fitted  so shop around mate
