    ABS fault

did charging your battery sort out the Fault? it maybe completely coincidental, but my rear wheel speed sensor failed, and it threw up ABS / DSC warnings, replace the sensor and fault now gone regards Steve
  2. Hi All just thought I would share my good news, She sailed through and passed another MOT, with no advisories again. I have had the EML on the dash for a few months, but the AA said it was DS rear wheel speed sensor, and was safe to drive until I got it looked at (which I did) anyway got that changed yesterday before the MOT and as I said, she passed with flying colours Regards Steve
  3. Do you prefer Dutchy? your last photo was of the engine bay, you should be able to see them in either the 'S type forum' or 'All Activity' I believe the Castle Bromwich site was the place were these and possibly other models were produced. Peter (Old Peter) has a fantastic knowledge of the Jaguar Marque, he will be able to provide so much more information than I could possibly do. Both you and your good lady, enjoy the sunsets as your cruising around the Gold coast!
  4. Hi Ray Welcome to the JOC, and congrats on your recent purchase, she looks very clean! did she start life in the UK? regards Steve
  5. welcome back Keith, she looks really good Steve
  6. hi Ralph Interesting read, any chance of popping some pics of the work your doing? I know they will be appreciated Regards Steve
  7. hi Tony I have the Parrot system in my car, kindly left by a previous owner, I can confirm it works really well, if I had one complaint, the remote gadget (which you can fix in a place that is conveinient for you) is a pain in the proverbial! it works when it wants, even though I replaced it last year. and as Dave said above, getting music off your phone is reltavley straight forward regards Steve
  8. thanks for letting us all know the outcome Rod
  9. Hi Glenn And welcome, Peter is quite correct, there are a couple of types you can get, and some are quite reasonable I know a couple of members have bought some here is a pic of mine I hope you can see it okay regards Steve
  10. Gary Not used them myself, but some mixed reviews on Google https://www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=ssl#q=jlc+southeast+london+jaguar&spf=1 regards Steve
  11. Hi Gary You can try these guys your car qualifies for a certificate as its over 10 years old https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0ahUKEwi20ODn2LfTAhVBAcAKHWB3BawQFggjMAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.jaguarheritage.com%2F&usg=AFQjCNE2GyZ70cBRAD-Akwg91sxyeS_1Tw or these guys (they are NOT very fast in responding) lrsup@jaguarlandrover.com hope this is of some use regards Steve
  12. Hi Rod Just a few ideas, Bushes / Alignment / Shock absorbers / steering rack mounts are you getting any feedback via the steering wheel? I don't know anything about X types, is that a front wheel drive or AWD regards Steve
  13. Many Thanks Guys Joe that is extremely helpful, and very useful. I presume that is a back up sounder? will there be any affect on central locking or the main Horn? I also presume, no special security fittings are used to stop tampering? Again thanks for all your input Regards Steve
  14. Cheers Joe Well the alarm went off again yesterday, it has to be heat, the front of the car was bathed in sun for several hours, I don't suppose there is a way to isolate it manually? if anyone should know please PM me so the info is not out there for any Tom, !Removed! & Harry to view, I'm aware a disabled alarm will invalidate insurance Steve
  15. Thanks for the input chaps Russ thanks for asking, I'm fine thanks, I was made redundant in October after 12 years in the role, so just decided to take some time out for myself, including staying away from computers! but now I'm back in the job search market, hopefully getting an interview next week (Fingers crossed) so just goes to show what I was doing whilst at work, Yes, Contributing to the JOC! It would appear that 1 click locks & alarms, 2nd click activates the dead locks, I have turned the car around, (The Van & car are south facing) as we are expecting some sunny days down here (Caravan site) the passenger side will get the bulk of the sun, drivers side very little, as the shadow from the Van will quickly put the car in the shade, so will be interesting to see what happens.... Joe Thanks for the info, that sounds like a Main Dealer type job, (I still have yet to find a decent Indie that I would trust) do you have an idea where about the unit is? if its easily accessible, I may try some form of extra insulation Many thanks again Guys Regards Steve
  16. Hi Guys Apologies for bringing this up again, and for not contributing to the JOC for quite a while. I am currently at my caravan, and the alarm has tripped 2 or 3 times in the last 4 or 5 days! it would seem the initial complaint from a neighbour was valid. I am now convinced its because the sun is shining directly on the drivers side, which would make for extremely awkward parking at home, as previously mentioned the car gets parked in a cul-de-sac where the sun travels from one side to the other. has anyone experienced this and found a solution? perhaps extra insulation in an area around the alarm control module (or whatever its called?) as always any help greatly appreciated Regards Steve
  17. Hi Paul sorry for late reply, our new dog has been seriously ill so not been on here for awhile they do look good I have to say Regards Steve
  18. Hi All quite an important question, I have just bought SWMBO a puppy, and it occurred to me, if the dog should manage to step on the brake lever whilst I'm driving, would it engage? I'm not sure whether there is a speed sensor or something that's restricts it from operating over certain speeds I know it (the dog) should be strapped in so to speak, but I haven't got a harness small enough at the moment, nor a traveling cage / box for the back seat. When we brought it home it was in its bed on my missus lap, and was quite unsettled as it's not use to cars Until I get something sorted to transport the dog any info on this would be much appreciated Regards Steve
  19. Hi Gerald my guess would be HT leads to plugs? but as I'm sure you are aware, a fire in the engine bay is a no no! (I'm not sure where the fuel line enters the engine bay?) either way I think the manifold will have to come off, I suppose one advantage is you can check the condition of your plugs etc whilst it's off? regards Steve
  20. Hi Paul im no sparks, but sounds like an earthing problem possibly? Steve
  21. Hi Phil firstly welcome to the JOC! Thats exceptionally low mileage for an 06, she must be almost mint condition? You will find a lot of help available from the guys in the owners club, and I know the retro fits you are looking for have been done by some of the guys. I'm sure they will reply shortly. mine is also basic spec, however my mirrors do fold, using the circular button on the drivers door arm rest (press it once at the 6 o'clock position) I am presuming your mirrors have the motors already in place of course, there is a way to retro fit so they fold when using the fob (but that's way out of my league in terms of How!) no heated seats, never had them so certainly don't miss them, mine also did not have Jag voice, but previous owner did leave the parrot system, which after a bit of faffing now works perfectly with my phone for calls and music off the phone. Your audio system sounds like the basic type, unless it has 'Alpine' badges on the speaker covers? In which case it's the premium system, if that's of interest to you as well, one of the guys has also swapped the basic and upgraded to the premium system as well! anyway as I said I'm sure you will have some replies shortly Regards Steve
  22. Hi Amardeep looking forward to seeing her mine didn't have the mesh grille when I bought her, I did that mod myself, it originally had the vertical slat type grille I believe they are called "Waterfall " very scary cutting the slats out! but the end result is very satisfying. i posted a topic about the work with pictures. I know yours already has the mesh type fitted, but I'll find it if you're interested? Regards Steve
  23. Hi Amardeep do you have any pictures of her? Would be good to see her what year? 3.0 or 2.5? regards Steve
  24. Sorry they were of no use John but absolutely wish you well in saving her
  25. Hi John Had a little look around and found these, looks very complex! You will need to decide of course whether the information will work for you? http://www.justanswer.com/car/0jdvt-steps-and-or-special-tools-changing-oil-pan-gasket.html http://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x-type-x400-14/04-x-type-oil-pan-gasket-faq-11221/ http://www.jaguarforum.com/showthread.php?t=56500 Steve
