Electrical issues or are they ?
N6 JMX replied to Brian Gatehouse's topic in XK / XKR (X150) 2006 - 2014
Hi Brian, again the listing of the faults all point to a battery voltage issue - as I said, extremely sensitive to voltage fluctuations. As I am sure you are aware, in a Modern XK, the battery's ability to start the car is no longer the best indicator of a good battery in situ. In my own case, even if not using the car for a few days, I get it hooked up to the battery conditioner, which in my case is preferred the Ring Automotive Smart Charger type RSC 612, but others prefer the Ctek option. Unfortunately you need to get your car to a suitable garage, one that has access to the Autologic or Jaguar Diagnostic equipment as I suspect one, or more, of the electronic modules has corrupted as a consequence of the dead battery and will need to be reset. Obviously with a seized brake calliper, the car would need to be recovered either on a flatbed, or by a raised rear tow dolly. Before that, try a "Hard Reset" of the car / battery. Disconnect both leads from the battery terminals and then touch them together - capacitance discharge. Wait for around 10 minutes and then reattach the leads to the battery and see what the car tells you. If it comes alive, try and take a 10 mile drive without adjusting anything - even window settings - as this allows the car to relearn its modes. Good luck. N6 JMX -
I have inherited my husbands XK auto sports. It’s a beautiful car , gold with cream interior. 50,000 miles only with a full service history and recent service and MOT. I have two other cars and would like to sell it . Can you help me with advice on how much I should ask and how to do so?

This is a known but not common issue. The hood can be resealed, after suitable cleaning of the old adhesive with Welcon surface cleaner, by using a glue called Teromix 6700. N6 JMX

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll get on it! I've seen a lot of info about SDD, sounds like i'll be investing. Genuinely though, if it takes getting someone over then I'll do it. The car is too pretty for it to be left not running! -
my rear door won't open from inside or outside any idea's .

hey, i've seen somehwere someone had same issue, but xf if memory serves right. he removed front seat completely to make more space, undid door card screws, popped it all around hen just wiggled door card out. not sure if it's possible on x type, but food for thought. let us know how you get on -

If memory serves, the locking nuts have a removable sleeve to allow the "key" to fit in the end of the nut. As such, the locking nut doesn't have the same tight fitting sleeve, just a relatively loose one. Funny (ish) story, i removed all 4 locking nuts on mine prior to replacing the tyres. In between removing each wheel and fitting a new tyre then refitting and then going to replace the locking nuts, i managed to lose the "key". That decided me, they'd be replaced with normal nuts. By strange coincidence, after fitting replacement wheels to my Honda, i lost the locking nut "key" and had to buy a locking wheel nut remover kit. Done one so far but the rest won't be long, been hoping the key would turn up............

Hello, I have exactly the same fault on mine, did either of you manage to solve this? Thanks, Pete.

If you have two things not working at the rear, then it’s very likely the electrical cables where they enter the tailgate at the top right. These go through a lot of movement with opening and closing of the tailgate - and it’s not abnormal for them to break at this point.

Bluetooth has suddenly stopped working in 2012 XK

Hi Gavin I don't know if you have fixed this in the last month but it was part of the IOS upgrade that caused similar problems across many brands and cars. Apple have since run another upgrade that solved the issue. -

What a load of rubbish, it's a stop start button, you don't put the key in the ignition, it's a fob.

I bought a 2021 Jaguar XF Mild Hybrid in 2023. within 6 months of purchase the engine warning light came on whilst driving to Austria. The local main agent said that he had cured the fault but it came back on on the return journey. The car went in to the local main agent for a service and on driving away the light came on again. The diagnoses this time was a loose wire, which they said they corrected. Since then the light keeps appearing and I eliminate the "fault" with my diagnostic tool. Having got fed up with his I got another main dealer to look at the car. They said the fault was in the filter in the EGR and replaced it. Needless to say the warning light has come on again. When using my diagnostic tool there is no fault code shown. Does anyone have any idea where the fault is and how to remedy it.

I have this problem on my passenger seat - I brought a whole seat but that didnt work either - it came with a 16 way module and my car had 10 way, Ive brought a second had 10 way module which made no difference, my seat is fully reclined - the front edge of the seat goes up and down fine, also when I operate the switch I can hear the module click - I have SDD but when I try Recal or add a new module it always fails, any ideas also does the newere XF module have to 10 way to work in my 06 X150?
