  3. I have a 2009 XK 4.2, looking at rustproofing the underside, could anyone recommend a treatment centre in the West Kent/M25 area, thanks
  4. OK thanks I'll give those a try and let you know.
  5. Little tip with the inertia switch - tap the body of it with the handle of a screwdriver until you hear it deploy with a definite "bah-doy-nnng" then reset it. They have a habit of furring the contacts, especially if sat for a while and this can often cause the fuel pump to not run. Also try the spare key in case the transponder in your main key has died.
  6. I've checked the inertia and it hadn't tripped. So you are correct it's time to get the experts in. I was just going to try a second hand recm as it's an easy swap however can't find an exact part number match.
  7. The fuel pump isn't always noticeable when you switch the ignition on so i'd suggest you get someone who has the necessary diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot. You could spend a lot of time (and money!) firing the parts cannon at it without getting any results. It may be something much more simple like the CPS (crankshaft position sensor) causing your non-start.
  8. If the pump does not run then first check the inertia switch hasn’t tripped inadvertently before you go further.
  9. The ZF 6HP26 is so reliable few people have ever asked. The most common fault is when a garage runs the engine without any oil in the transmission. This breaks the pump in the transmission, I have heard of a fire in the transmission that cooked 3rd and 4th. Otherwise a service changing the filter and fluid fixes it. What's the problem?
  10. I have no diagnostic tools as such. I have replaced fuel and fuel pump checked fuses, relay and diode. The pump doesn't kick in when I turn the ignition on so suspect the rem. This is my last hope before calling in the experts.

  12. What diagnostics have you done?
  13. The car won't start after standing for 3 years. Replaced fuel pump now thinking it may be rear electronic module. The part number of my module is XW4T-13B524-BC however can't find any with exact part number I can find modules YW4T-13B524-BA YW4T-13B524-BB Does anyone know if these parts will be compatible as they both state that they are from an s-type. I would appreciate any help on this. Thanks. Gaz.
  14. Thanks for the replies, refurb will happen when the tyres are due a chance, will get them colour matched for a touch up first. Happy safe motoring Terry
  15. Working through the AC system on my X350 looking for an elusive leak, I got confused over pipe diameters and thought my charging manifold was wrongly labelled. The LP side is the larger diameter but the charging point is smaller than the HP one. It seems a strange idea to put the small diameter connector on the larger diameter pipe but that seems to be the norm. 🤔. I'm hoping that the new condenser will solve the problem but time will tell.

  17. Can you recommend anything? Iv searched ali express and id rather use something that has been tried, tested and other owners would recommend.
  18. Welcome to the forum, enjoy.😊

  21. Welcome onboard, lovely looking machine - have many great drives ahead of you. N6 JMX
  22. Welcome aboard and if you don't mind sacrificing a spanner to make it an "S" shape, it apparently makes changing the oil p sender much easier. Not done it myself but saw such a spanner ~25 years ago in my local Jag specialists when i was buying a car from them (XJ40 3.6 Sovereign) - luckily mine didn't fail during my ownership.
