Hi, I am new to this group. Just checking if there would be any interest in my 2008 XFS V8 r supercharged. I have had it for 5years and had a lot of fun with it, but now retired so it's time to let it go. It has 160,000 on the clock but has full service history and has been maintained regardless of cost. Service every 10,000 miles. I am looking for around £6,000 for it. Thanks for reading.

Subject: Inquiry Regarding Malfunction of Driver's Side Door Touch Sensor Hello everyone, I am writing to seek assistance regarding an issue I am experiencing with my vehicle. The touch sensor on the driver's side door has ceased functioning; however, all other components, including the key fob, are operating normally. I would greatly appreciate any guidance or recommendations you may have regarding this matter. Thank you for your attention.

Cheap solution to overnight battery discharge
Jimbov8 replied to Racerlady's topic in Jaguar S-Type Club
I would suggest you check the “alarm chirp sounder”. This is by and large the most common fault with discharging batteries. Disconnect it and then see if the battery dies. -

Cheap solution to overnight battery discharge
N6 JMX replied to Racerlady's topic in Jaguar S-Type Club
Hi Marianne, no car should discharge its battery so quickly, there has to be a significant parasitic drain happening. Have you checked the obvious like boot lights remaining on? Interior lights are more obvious over time, so I assume you have ruled those out. However, there is one interior light that is a little harder to spot and that is the light in the vanity mirrors, behind the sun visor. If your car is fitted with vanity mirrors and appropriate lights and also has the sliding screen across the mirror, if you don't close the sliding screen to cover the mirror, the vanity light remains on, causing a large battery drain. Good call, check the simple and easy fix stuff first. The breather would be an obvious thought. N6 JMX

We have a pretty early S-Type, registered May 1999, which we bought 4 years ago. We quickly discovered that it was prone to discharge the battery overnight - not always, but more often than not. A cheap solution has been to fit a Richbrook battery isolator, £9.95 plus postage. While out and about, the battery lasts at least 3 hours, but we disconnect if the car is being left for more than that.

Oil smell in cabin when sitting idle
LEE.XF.R.SPORT replied to LEE.XF.R.SPORT's topic in Jaguar XF Club
Hi. It has been getting worse over the last few weeks. I took the oil cap off the car today while it was running and there seems to be a lot of blow by. Im hoping it's a blocked breather -

Hi Lee, you don't say whether this has just started or has been with the car since it came to you. Is it hot oil smell, or simply an oily smell as you would get with a spill of fresh oil onto the carpet? N6 JMX

Hello boys and girls. Im getting an oil smell in the car when at rest. Is this a known problem? I find people on forums are fountains of knowledge. This is my first jaguar. It's a 2.0 r-sport. Im just hoping it's not the ingenium kiss of death. The service history on line is bang up to date. Next oil change on the app says 10145 miles but I'm going to get an oil change done anyway the last was sept last year.

I am new to the club and hope someone has this part or information leading to the part I need for my S-Type 2002 v6 3.0. I cannot find a harmonic balance pulley as mine is wore out. Please respond if you have ideas or one just sitting around in your garage somewhere.

Hi Jim , thanks for message , sorry if i'm being thick but what is JDHT?? -
Hi to all of you.. I need, if possible, a quick answer to this question: Is it possible to replace the timing chain without removing the engine from the car? My mechanic doesn't know if it's possible and the price of the intervention depends on this variable. please help me..!

Hi David, get on to the JDHT and get yourself a Heritage Certificate if there is not one already with the car/ This will give lots of information on the build and initial delivery. N6 JMX
