Hi Everyone! I have just bought a 2018 XF awd Sportbrake having owned a 2013 XF saloon since 2019. On my older Jag, there is a section on the display where I can select the paddles to work in Drive and Sport or Sport only whereas on the newer one I cannot find this function. The paddles only work in Sport mode. Is there a function somewhere that I can get the paddles to work in both modes, do 2018 models not have this function or is there a problem? Any input gratefully received KR Hardwood1

Hi all i bought a 1996 xk8 last year ( all working and no issues. Was in same family for 26 yrs and always garaged . I’ve not used it much ( maybe 50 miles in 12 months due to work . But it now doesn’t start on dash shows message - check engine . I’ve had it plugged into my local garage computer test but due to age fault code can’t be recognised . Does anyone know of a reliable/ reasonably priced jag specialist garage near to Middleton/ Rochdale area . Regards Dave

Hi, I’ve got a 1995 XJ6 (VIN: SAJJFKLG3BJ760716) with a broken door mirror adjuster switch – (pls see photo). This little switch is often a problem as the stick part coming out of the switch body, is a silly 2mm of plastic with a hood on top. Can anyone tell me whether there is any kind of OEM upgrade available for this as the original is so easy to snap off? If not, can anyone give me a quote for replacing the switch? Many thanks. Peter

Given the lack of new products and uncertain future in the US any thoughts on the prospects for service availability and resale prices?

Hi there. They must have undo/redi something incorrectly? So called aircon specialists...I would find jag indy, they should sort it out as they know jags through and through

Hi, I have owned my jag for some 15 years. A couple of years ago I had a reduced performance warning which put the car into limp mode. I took it to my local jag dealership who informed me the super charger cooling pump was failing. I coughed up well over a grand for them to fix it. Which they did. But since then my aircon leaks. The dealership had closed down ( maybe lost their franchise?). I have taken my car to a couple of so called aircon specialist but they just can't fix it, apart from relieving me of money. My question is, if the super charger cooling pump being replaced could have caused the aircon problem? I'm now at my tether. Can anyone help or recommend someone who can? Kind regards Dar

Hi Tamara I would tell you to read my post The Great DPF debate in this forum. Replace both EGR valves. Get the car to a reputable garage and get the DPF removed and professionally cleaned. Do not not have it cleaned on the car as this is a scam. Hope this helps Peter in the UK

Hello, appreciate any advice on the this. I have 3 keys for my 2004 XJ6 X350 model, all have lost their radio sychronisation so I cannot remotely unlock the car. Earlier today I was able to use one set of keys to manually unlock the car and start it. Since then, I can now longer even manually unlock the car. The key just seems to turn in the lock (maybe the heat at the moment is a factor?). I have replaced the batteries in all 3 sets of keys that I have, however that has not helped. Anything else I can try? Anyone who is good to contact regarding this? Thanks in advance! Paul

Hi Steve. FYI The P1000 PCM code can be thrown by a battery disconnection, or possibly low voltage and needs a Drive cycle to be completed to allow the Power Control Module to reset. Drive Cycle Instructions are normally to drive until everything is warmed up and use all the gears with a fairly aggressive right foot. Then leave the car overnight and hopefully it will have reset itself. The P1647 upstream O2 sensor fault refers to a sensor in the exhaust monitoring the Catalytic convertor, so probably worth getting a proper diagnostic on that whilst you are at the garage to avoid damaging the cat. Good luck John BTW the sills you can see from the roadside are plastic covers. The scarry bits are underneath 🙂

Hi John, Thank you for the welcome and for taking the time to offer your advice. I'm not sure how old the battery is, it doesn't look very old but it is a brand I've never heard of - Point S (I've attached an image). I've been out to the shops tonight in the Jag and the EML has come on again (same codes) but no battery light. I'll have my garage run the diagnostic on it next week, but I think a new battery is a good idea. Noted on the rotting sills - I'll keep an eye on mine. Thanks again, Steve
-
Hi Steve and welcome. First suspect would be a flat battery. Do you have any idea how old it is? A low battery charge is quite capable of throwing all sorts of fault codes and as the codes have not re-appeared that sounds the most likely cause. If you checked the battery just after you got home it may well have indicated a reasonable state of charge. I would give it a full charge and see how it goes. Only really serious problems are usually to do with rusting sills but there are replacements availble to weld in (Mine has been done and is covered in lanogaurd to keep it rust free.) Good luck John
