back in the 70's neighbour had a dark red XJ that we used to stare at as kids. mesmerised that it had dual fuel tanks, which as a kid was very cool. Smell of the creaky leather.. nice.

Hi Paul, Do not fit your charger direct to the battery as you will bypass the battery monitoring system (BMS). The negative of your charger should go to a suitable ground point. Here is my, Jaguar recommended installation; and what it looks like with the trim in place: The charger you have will be fine.👍

Hi, I have just become the proud owner of a 2010 XKR 5.0 Convertible and as winter is quickly approaching the car will have limited use. With this I need some advice on: 1. Where to connect the battery charger/conditioner - either hard wired directly onto the battery terminals with the cable protruding out the cover into the boot to plug in or onto the jump points behind the louver panel on the left hand side of the boot. 2. Is the attached equipment adequate to plug in as a battery charger/conditioner? Thanks

Hi Martin I am Jim or Spyderromeo I have owned both car and can comment on both the X308 was my chariot for 23 years I bought it new in 2000 for £54.000and sold it last year for £250 as a bag of rust, the outside looked the same as it came out of the factory, but the underside was like a piece of lace curtain. But it was the best car I ever owned ask me anything you want about ownership. I now own a XKR but I can only comment on a few very exciting weeks of ownership, The only negative I can say about owning one is the stupid and ridiculous price of road tax. but I could say the same about the X308. The XKR has all the signs of being the best car in the world for the price. if it carry's on like it has done I will be very happy. Spyderromeo

My very first love of cars was when i saw a bright red Mk2 with red interior. I was probably six years old and my grandfather told me to stand away from the car as the owner approached. No word of a lie, he was a proper spiv with pinstripe suit and he told my grandfather that it was okay for me to sit behind the wheel. First impressions were the smell of the leather and wood, and then complete awe from seeing all the gauges and switches on the dashboard. That was it, smitten at first sight, then promptly requested a model kit from my grandfather of a bright red Mk2 Jaguar. That's how memories are made!

There is just a possibility that you have programmed the boot lid to not open properly/ fully: try opening the boot to its full height and pressing and holding for 10 seconds the boot close button: if it has been programmed to open to any other point on the cycle, this should reset it.

Jimbov you are an absolute star! the first few mins of the video show exactly what I wanted. It even had a little tip to stop damage to the chrome on the plastic next to it. Thank you I just wasn't sure anyone would answer such a random question never mind such a fabulous accurate close up how to do it. Providing the weather is okay I will change over to a nice new shiny chrome number plate area. It is a new car to me and when I bought it the paintwork on the whole light cluster was a bit rough and really the only item that needed attention. Thanks again Spiderromeo

Yes, it's a power lift boot and opens automatically. I have to close it manually.

Hi I am new to this, and maybe I am starting this in the wrong place, if I am can someone point me in the right direction. The problem is associated with the rear number plate lights and bezel. When I say bezel it is the complete chrome or painted boot lock, light and boot wide JAGUAR logo. I have just bought a new chrome unit less lights lock initiating button i.e just the chrome plastic molding ( I thought it had a "u" in it but my spell detector says no) any way I want to take the old one of but don't want to break the lenses, They are obviously brittle and I can find lots of places were I can get a screw driver but I don't want to break the lens by doing it wrong. Has anyone done this little job recently and can remember where is the right place and in what direction or to be blunt how do you do it. jim (Spyderromeo) Do I sign off with my real name or my member name? Hi! i have a family friend who has an XKR 2002, looking for these parts which i cant seem to find anywhere as i myself have not got much knowledge on jaguars and where to find older models parts 2 wishbones for the rear left and right 2 Bushes (?) for the front and back not sure which bush so i am attaching pictures for this one. if anyone can help with a part number name or website it would be much appreciated.

Hi guys, new to this forum for a family friend. I'm looking for a set of these bushes for an XKR 2002. just wondering if anyone could find a part number, correct name, or a website which may have them? i'm not too clued up on jaguars myself so i thought id find some more knowledgeable people here to may have some advice! thank and and any help at all is much appreciated.
