Xander started following Suspension fault
-
Hi there, new member with an X351 Autobiography, and already in trouble… Just a few hours ago my suspension fault warning came on, and although I can’t notice any issues with the car (yet) I am quite worried. My Icarsoft LR3.0 doesn’t show any fault with the suspension, so I wonder if anyone in Sussex has an SSD and could check it for me. Thank you in advance! Xander

Update 25. 06.2026 Hi all, thought I would drop in and provide an update on the above article. Wow, I was on one wasn't I 🙂 Yes I still have the same car and we have made it to 115k without any of the previous RP issues whatsoever. She has performed beautifully. I am now changing oil every 6 months regardless. The filter every year. I really hope some of you have saved yourselves heartache from my experience. Its just passing it forward to help other people, we share the golden knowledge without needing feedback. I know your out there smiling now, job done. Rest and be thankful 🙂 Onwards...- 2 replies

XK8 Key Fobs – A Repair, Sort Of…….

XK8 Key Fobs – A Repair, Sort Of…….
Nige005 replied to Nige005's topic in XK8 / XKR ( X100) 1996 - 2006
On a more serious note I just remembered that several weeks ago all the Fob functions completely failed, none of the buttons did anything. Change batteries - still nothing. Cleaned the contacts - still nothing. Disconnect car battery for a few minutes - still nothing Did Fob pairing - still nothing. ( Although I'm not sure if the Pairing attempt was successful or not. ) At this point I'd had enough and decided to call it a day. As I'd had to reset the Car Window Drop settings as the car battery had been disconnected I walked around to the passenger side and opened and closed the door just to check that these were ok. They were and as I started walking ( disconsolately ) towards the house I casually just pressed the Lock button on the Fob. I was rewarded with a lovely clunk noise and flashing lights. The flashing lights were yellow ones on the car, not the multicoloured ones oft seen in my head......... I just carried on towards the house. ( If you believe this bit I have a very nice bridge for sale. ) Back to the car to check everything ( several if not many times over ) and everything is working fine. Only conclusions that I can draw is that the Fob itself was working fine but the car didn’t want to play. The passenger door is very rarely used so something in the locking system connected to or in that door had thrown a wobbly and the simple act of opening and closing that door had sorted it out. I don’t know for sure but what I DO know is that if I ever have a similar problem again I will open and close all the doors, boot and bonnet before doing anything else and before panic sets in ! -

That's an idea. If the Key Fob doesn't like it I reckon that I would so it seems like a win win to me, at least something to drown the sorrows with ! -

Hi All I’ve recently bought a 2021 F-Pace P250. Absolutely love the car, however, it’s has what can only be described as a judder when off the power. the car has done 38k with 2 services done. When you’re slowing down (without the brakes) or at high speed and come off the power it feels like a slight judder through the body of the car NOT the steering wheel. I’ve had it checked and it’s going back to the dealer in Monday for diagnosis however I’m wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing…. Garage I took it to has mentioned it could be diverting in the drive train but didn’t want to go too far as it’s under the 3 month warranty period Any thoughts would be welcome

And that is why the insurance company have said it is a total loss. Remember, the selling price includes the sellers profit, your insurance company will not want to pay anything to the sellers profit margin.

Yes, sticky throttle flap is common and can be fixed by filing it slightly, so it doesn't stick anything. did that in mine. Although never heard of sticky flap throttle and dtc for dpf full as result...

I had a warning that my DPF was full and the car was in "limp" mode. (3 litre F Pace Sport, 45000 miles). After a DPF doctor check, the Data and codes came in at only 20% full, which should have been cleared by a forced DPF clearance run. After a clean out and resetting everything, the car ran for another few hundred miles and went red again showing DPF problem and into "limp" mode. A second visit again showed less than 15% soot in the system, but this guy suggested a look at the throttle box, as this can jam open affecting the turb, as the internal plastic housing can deform due to heat. Sure enough, the butterfly valve was jammed open. It's a common problem apparently. I had a new throttle box and exhaust pressure sensor installed at Jagutek near Ely, and 3 months and 2000 miles on everything is OK..... £600 for a new box and sensor versus £2000+ for a new DPF unit......!!!! Thank you DPF Doctor number 2 !!!!

Did red rp disappeared? If not I would advise against driving it. Could be anything
-
Hey all. Currently driving from Leeds back home to Dwvon and my red Restricted Performance triangle has appeared. I called a mechanic who suggested the passive DPF clearance, which ive done (currently letting the car chill out after holding 2500 revs for 30 mins) Keeping fingers crossed this is the issue. Has anyone else had this and if so, is the next 150 miles gonna break my lovely jag????

Hi Nige, probably work better if you used a proper contact cleaner - dousing your fob in India Pale Ale (IPA) doesn't sound like a good option!!!!!! Joke. N6 JMX -

Good luck Luca. Still pleased with the repair on mine, no doubt it will have to be repeated but that's not a problem. -

Thanks, I'll give a try, I paid 250€ in Italy for repairing the chips (as I was told they were gone) but still not working, due to the rubber part not making a good contact, apparently.
