Display box / plinth

As i'm no good at carpentry, i used a bit of 2x1" batten cut to length, drilled a couple of holes and called it good. However if you happen to know someone who is better at carpentry than me (that's almost anyone by the way!) you could maybe persuade them to get you a nice bit of mahogany or similar and chamfer the edges with a router (think that's the tool needed), drill and rebate the mounting holes, lacquer it and then mount the Leaper on it. If tht same person is good with plastic/perspex, they could make you a lid to keep the dust off as well.......... -
LostBloke started following Sensor connector
-
Hello. Checking a warning light, I found the pressure sensor connector at the top front of the engine , just under the cover, was loose. I tried to clip it back on but the locking tab had snapped off. At the moment I'm using cable ties to hold it on. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement? The places I've tried want me to buy a complete loom.

Have you tried lowering the door seal a little? Or used some rubber conditioner to help flex up the seal?
-
I saw it on that site but all the indicators suggest it could well be a scammers site. Thank you for looking 馃槉

I鈥檝e always been a jag admirer but I鈥檓 not a Jag owner, yet. I鈥檓 now into looking at the XF. Questions 1: Is it worth paying the extra for a a 2nd Gen (I believe 2015 - 2: If so, I have to have an auto and prefer diesel so what is the preferred engines and most reliable and economical? 3: Is the Sport model a better advantage? 4: Any pitfalls I need to be wary of? Thank you for any advice as this is a genuine enquiry into my very late (nearly 79) in life dream.

After much ado I鈥檝e finally got my phone reliably connected to my xk 4.2 2006 amplifier. Had a wired fm modulator( see photo) fitted by a professional for 拢50, it has an Independent power supply to it hard wired in. When it was done it had loads of interference, contacted the supplier and told to fit a ground loop noise isolator ?? Thought he was just fobbing me off but 拢4.00 later I bought and fitted one from eBay. All fitted and works perfectly. All now hidden behind the radio including another power supply run from an outlet in the glove box to an adaptor to allow phone charging at the same time. All I have is one lead coming out of the dash to my phone. This car is also fitted with an electric aerial so I鈥檝e pulled the fuse to that and it stays down now All round a success story. A damned rare thing these days !

Hi all, Does anyone know where I can buy a display case or plinth to mount our leaping cat hood ornament? Sadly the car has been written off but as it was my late dads pride and joy I鈥檇 like to mount the ornament for my mum. Any suggestions greatly appreciated! Jen

Steve Horne started following XKR X150 Coolant hose.

Thanks Jim, yes exactly the same fault for me, I will do a similar repair until I can find a replacement hose, I have had this hose off before and it appears fine, I wonder if the spout on the tank softens with the heat and time and is compressed by the clamp? allowing the connection to fail and leak? Such a small issue that would cause a major problem. I will let you know how I get on. Thanks again for your help Regards Steve H

From a quick bit of research, everywhere seems to be sold out and no intention of restocking, suggesting it's now NLA so i'd suggest a breakers yard or perhaps ebay for a NOS seal.

This guy has exactly the same problem. Part number is C2P2186. Good luck with your search. Perhaps Eurojag maybe able to help.

You will need to determine the part number and the link below should allow you to do that. Xk 2006 - 2014 (from B00379) (x150) / Radiator Hoses-v8-4.2 Litre-supercharged (4.2 Litre Supercharged) | Jaguar Land Rover Classic Parts N6 JMX

Thanks for the info. I am starting wonder if this is the case. Though by only pressing the fob once I do notice that the red led starts to flash, so some alarm is set. Is there way to find out what alarm system is on the car, as manual seems to suggest that the movement sensor may be" an option" I will buy jumps leads.........belt n braces

Hello again experts! Another question for you guys, I have a 2008 XKR X150 ( lovely car) that is loosing a small amount of coolant from the large hose on the bottom of the header tank which joins into the aluminium heater pipe , hose is larger on the top than the bottom, has anyone had any success in finding the hose without having to purchase the heater pipe as well! Appreciate your feedback. TIA Steve H.

Incidentally, if you are looking for a Club that deals exclusively with the Modern XK, you could think about joining the XKCC, see link below. The annual membership fee is only 拢10 and well worth it for the camaraderie and outings alone. Home | XKCC N6 JMX

Welcome aboard Jim, and I hope you have many happy miles in your XKR Convertible - Zero. As you will note if you have already been trawling in this section of the Forum, there is a lot of knowledge and a willingness to share this with fellow Enthusiasts. If you have already suffered from the dreaded tin worm on your unfortunate XJ, then I am assuming that you had the underside of Zero fully checked out ahead of purchase. The main body may be aluminium, but that doesn't guarantee no corrosion, just a different version, but the underside has steel subframes that can get into a really poor state very quickly. This is especially the case if the car has been used year round and seen salted roads or, strangely enough, if the car has spent some of its life living by the seaside. Let's see a few photos when you can. N6 JMX
