  2. You're welcome, good luck with whatever you go for.
  3. Thanks for that, I'll have a look at this.
  4. First thing that springs to mind would be this : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/357133847843 There are cheaper Chinese units available, i picked that one to give you an idea whats available. My own S Type is a 1999 model so has the older style dash and no "off the shelf" option so i bought a dead stereo with the right colour surround and built a 9" Android unit into it - i must finish the job and get it fitted!
  5. Today
  6. I have a 2006 s type which I've been told you can't update the sat nav later than 2012. Does anyone know of anything I can do to solve this issue? It runs on a dvd .
  7. Finally solved map upgrade issues. Jaguar where excellent 🏆Lloyds jaguar Houghton le spring did themselves proud with a little backwards and forward. Dropped of car 8 courtesy car, washed, hoovered returned by 4 . TCU &IMC update. Now my car is talking and I can update maps and live coverage. Cost was bearable, experience sometimes frustrating but a positive outcome

  9. Dark blue, oatmeal interior. 67,ooo miles. Very nice condition. I have owned for two and a half years, doing approx 6k miles a year. It is a very good car for £8,000.
  10. John, Thanks for your response and advice. I shall give it a try! Mike
  11. Last week
  12. Hi Mike I had exactly the same issue on 2013 XF Sportbrake. Totally confused the garage as not fixed after replacing the external sensor. It seems the computer still relies on previous readings until the car has been turned off for over 6 hours so, fingers crossed, it may be OK when you have left it overnight..... Good luck John
  13. Very confused ? How did you manage to buy a new I-Pace in June 2025, as dealers, we had to register every new Jaguar we had by the end of October 2024. Every new Jaguar includes 3 years roadside assist anyway (which is administered by the AA) as part of the manufacturers warranty package.
  14. As i always say, it's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Even new cars break down and the cost of AA cover Vs the cost of an enforced motorway tow is comparatively nothing.
  15. I bought a new I-Pace in June 2025, the AA are now asking for a renewal fee do I need the AA on a new Jag?
  16. Hi thanks for that it has given me a guide line
  17. Hello, I don't know if this helps. I live in a small village just outside of Bristol, and my local village garage changed the timing belt, water pump, etc in my car, the same year as yours at the start of the year for £1063.
  18. Hi all, I’m the owner of a 2010 XKR 5.0 Supercharged. The outside temperature on the infotainment screen flashes between ambient and -40°, when this occurs the HVAC fails to operate (including the blower). Occasionally the issue resolves itself and everything related works as normal until the car is restarted. Battery has been replaced along with ambient air temperature sensor (nearside door mirror). I would be grateful if anyone in the group has experienced/remedied this before I go down the diagnostics path. Thanks in advance, Mike
  19. Have a look on this page for the correct VIN range, then with the part number just google it for suppliers; https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.com/parts/index/part/id/400.1293.3744.16495/brand/jaguar/
  20. Here you go John; https://www.autoreservejaguar.com/x-type-2008-2010-front-bumper-undertray-lower-valance.html
  21. Hi Michael Seems you have no fuel available at first. Sounds like a problem I had with an old Peugeot 208 where there was a loose connection in the fuel line to the pump allowing air in and thus letting the fuel slip back down the line. This needed prolonged turnover or manual pumping of the fuel pump (it had a primer on top!) before it would start. Obviously the longer it sits between "sessions" the more time the fuel has to creep back down the fuel line if that is your problem I would check the fuel lines for leaks / loose connections and look / smell for fuel leaks and possible areas where air could be getting in the line. Good luck John
  22. Hi where can I get the engine under tray that goes between the front bumper and main under tray that protects the engine. Also I need a n/s splash guard that goes over the wheel and bolts to the front bumper. Hopefully I explained this correctly. Thank you
  23. Hello Justin, The SDD/Mongoose that I have I presume is a Chinese clone. The suppliers said that it must not be connected to the internet or it will not work. Therefore when I try to use it, it has the Red notice in the top right corner saying servrt fault. Is this normal?
  24. I wish that someone could tell me why the SDD diagnostics won't read the data on my car
  25. Joe, if and when it starts, it starts without hesitation and I can drive for an hour, have a cup of coffee then it will stat again and drive home so I can't believe that it is air in the fuel system. It is as if the injectors are being inhibited
  26. Yes, glowplugs are working. If I use easystart it will fire but not run. Injecters are being inhibited but no DTC's showing
  27. Hello John, Battery full, turns over rapidly with easystart it will fire but not run. It seems that the injectors are not being activated
  28. I think you may be right there - especially in America where the Jaguar brand adoration is huge. It makes me wonder if they bowed out (disgracefully) to avoid having to enter the EV race with no actual intention of producing such models knowing that the outcome would be negatively received (especially in the US market who love their huge V8 engines). If that is the case then it was a very wise move on their behalf - watch everyone go down that path and fail then re-enter the market with a much better solution?
  29. A truly reluctant sale of my fantastic Jaguar XF 3.0 V6 Diesel Sport. Please read the full description carefully. This is an honest listing for what I believe is a very special car, and I want it to go to a real enthusiast who can give it the attention it deserves. The private plate shown in some photos is NOT included in the sale. The car will be sold with its original registration: OE59 XOK. Why is this car special? This is the highly sought-after 3.0-litre V6 Diesel Sport model, which offers a brilliant combination of power and performance that the smaller 2.0-litre versions can't match. Finding one of these in black is genuinely difficult. When I was looking, I saw many in silver or grey, but black models were rare and commanded a significantly higher price. For an enthusiast, this represents a fantastic opportunity to own a top-specification model in the best colour combination. My Story with the Car I have owned this Jaguar for three years, having paid around £5,500 for it. It has been an absolutely superb car, and I really do not want to be selling it. Most of the miles I added were gentle motorway miles as I lived far out in the countryside. The only minor issue when I bought it was some taped wiring in the boot, which is a common XF quirk which I fixed easily enough. I would much rather keep it. However, my circumstances have now changed. I am not returning to the UK for the foreseeable future, and my sister, who has been kindly storing the car for me, is now moving house in 1 week!. This means, very reluctantly, the car must find a new home. The Condition & The Project This is a project car, but it's starting from a fantastic base. The Good: The engine is absolutely perfect. It starts instantly from cold (I have a video I can send) and runs smoothly and powerfully. The gearbox is seamless. It passed its MOT just before I left the country. It has not been driven since, other than to start it regularly. It had new brakes fitted just before it was put into storage. he Work Required: The car's MOT expired around 10 months ago. It is currently declared SORN (off the road) and is not taxed. As shown in the photos, there is a heavy dent on one of the doors. This will require either a skilled panel repair or a replacement door. A new window motor and a light unit are waiting in the boot to be fitted. The car is sold with one key to start and an additional boot key. I have a full video I can send of it working fully, showing and explaining the niggles and the dent with complete transparency. Important Information Unless you know of a loop hole in that you can put tax on a car, get one day insurance and book your MOT that day, then the car drives away to anywhere you want perfectly but to my knowledge you can't tax a car with an MOT. Therefore due to having no MOT or tax, the car cannot be driven away. It must be collected from my sister's address in Moreton, Wirral, UK. using a trailer or a vehicle recovery service. This is a genuine and regrettable sale. If you're an enthusiast looking for a rare, high-spec project with a superb engine, this is your chance. With the bodywork sorted and a new MOT, you will have a truly stunning Jaguar that is worth significantly more than the price of entry. Please feel free to ask any questions to [email protected]
