    Have you checked / confirmed that other door touch sensors are working? Occasionally one door sensor seems to stop playing, but the others all work. The faulty door sensor then comes back after a few iterations. N6 JMX

    Hi, I am new to this group. Just checking if there would be any interest in my 2008 XFS V8 r supercharged. I have had it for 5years and had a lot of fun with it, but now retired so it's time to let it go. It has 160,000 on the clock but has full service history and has been maintained regardless of cost. The touch sensor on the driver's side door has ceased functioning; however, all other components, including the key fob, are operating normally.     I would suggest you check the “alarm chirp sounder”. This is by and large the most common fault with discharging batteries. Disconnect it and then see if the battery dies.

    Hi Marianne, no car should discharge its battery so quickly, there has to be a significant parasitic drain happening. Have you checked the obvious like boot lights remaining on? Interior lights are more obvious over time, so I assume you have ruled those out. However, there is one interior light that is a little harder to spot and that is the light in the vanity mirrors, behind the sun visor. If your car is fitted with vanity mirrors and appropriate lights and also has the sliding screen across the mirror, if you don't close the sliding screen to cover the mirror, the vanity light remains on, causing a large battery drain.     We have a pretty early S-Type, registered May 1999, which we bought 4 years ago. We quickly discovered that it was prone to discharge the battery overnight - not always, but more often than not. A cheap solution has been to fit a Richbrook battery isolator, £9.95 plus postage. While out and about, the battery lasts at least 3 hours, but we disconnect if the car is being left for more than that.

    Hello boys and girls. Im getting an oil smell in the car when at rest. Is this a known problem? I find people on forums are fountains of knowledge. This is my first jaguar. It's a 2.0 r-sport. Im just hoping it's not the ingenium kiss of death. The service history on line is bang up to date. Next oil change on the app says 10145 miles but I'm going to get an oil change done anyway the last was sept last year.
