Thanks for all the replies. Do we know if the system supports 4G data? I assume jt would, but I’m seeing a lot of other places only mentioning 3G (not to be confused with the network 3) and if so, is that why I can only get E as 3G is now switched off

Hey Jon, Thanks for reaching out! I don’t have any problem connecting, but I can’t get anything more than E (edge) connection, it never connects to 3G or 4G. Does your Vodafone sim come up as 3G or 4G on the display unit? Cheers

You can purchase data only SIM on places like Amazon, they come with a data limit and a time limit, i.e. if the data allowance is unused after the set time elapses, then the SIM needs to be replaced. Alternatively, you can purchase a data only SIM and Plan from sites like UBIGI, where you pay a monthly subscription for a set data limit. Suggest the latter as more cost effective. Select a low data limit plan and then keep an eye on usage via the App. If you find you are using more that the allowance, you can always up the plan. As an example, I have a 500MB monthly renewing plan in my car and the only time I run over the 500MB is when we are away on continental holiday - the I get an additional one-off top up plan. N6 JMX

It might be worth amending the description slightly to avoid confusion and adding some more details of the colour combination and specification. The SV8 is a rare car, only officially available 2008-2009 Description should be: XF 4.2 SV8 (the 'S' in this case stands for 'Super' V8, it's not an 'R' model) An XFS 'V8' on the other hand, doesn't have a supercharger, so people can get themselves mixed up, depending on how they read it !🙂 Best of luck with the sale.

It needs to be a data only SIM, not a phone SIM as far as I know. This one has been mentioned previously and lots of the reviews mention in car use. https://www.argos.co.uk/product/3342985?clickSR=slp:term:data sim:7:69:1

Hi Bryn, I also have a ‘17 XF-S and have a Vodafone SIM in its slot. What I’ve found is that it connects fine, but after the car has been switched off for a while (wife in the shops, etc.!) it annoyingly disconnects. Could this relate to your situation? Cheers, Jon

Hi all, just picked up a second hand XF S, it has in control pro, and the SIM card slot. I put in a Vodafone sim I had and it connects but doesn’t connect to 3G or 4G, just E. I then tried putting in 3 sim from my work phone. That didn’t connect at all! (That being said, it got kind of stuck in the slot and I had to pull the adapter out with pliers. I put the Vodafone sim back in and it connects again, but only to E. So the web browsers or anything internet related won’t work. I have checked all the settings under mobile data in the car, roaming in on, Mobile data is on, manually put in the APN just to make sure, still nothing. Is it worth buying a brand new data only sim and trying again? Any advice? Cheers!

Hi, thank you for the post.. I’d love to do a nice Sunday drive out to pick it up, unfortunately it’s quite a trek! Thankfully, I have managed to buy one that matches the colour I need (and was a much shorter drive away). Thankfully you for the tips about the a post! Andy

Good day Andy BLACCAT here. Relative to your "toneau" cover, are you referring to the cover for the top when folded down? If so, I have one that I will part with. What is the colour of your upholstery? My cover is "Coffee" which is a bit richer than the beige/tan colour. (It is possible to have them recoloured. Do not know price to recolour.) Andy. There is a stain from resting against a tire. It is visible but not overwhelming. See pics. If you are interested I will let it go $200 CAN. (Tops Online sells them starting at $553 USD) I live in Vineland, Ontario, Canada so a nice Sunday cruise to pick it up. OOPS!!! I just noticed your long license plate and your steering wheel on the "WRONG" side which tells me you don't live in DORSET, ONTARIO...... If you are interested I will research your shipping costs to your postal code in UK. Relative to doing the "A" pillars and top rail, You may be surprised how easy it is to CAREFULLY peel off the fabric and re-cement it. I did mine by myself and it was not difficult, however, in hind sight an extra pair of hands would have helped. Relative to doing the headliner, it requires re & re of the top's edges. My research indicated that the economics of replacing the whole top with a new one including the headliner although more expensive now will save you a lot of coin when you need to replace the top. Are you aware of "TOPS ONLINE"? "http://topsonline.com", in the USA. Vic Moses. 1-800-624-4470. I don't know how the current tariffs will affect the picing. Vic does mfr them in the USA. Good luck! Please let me know what you think. BLACCAT

Guys, My 5 Ltr AWD F Type went in for the 40K Mile Service last week, unfortunately though, whilst carrying out a Brake Fluid replacement which I hadn't requested, (Just part of the Service Sir!) they have managed to snap off one of the bleed nipples, OK, enough of a problem with Standard Callipers however, my vehicle has the full Jaguar Carbon Ceramic Brembo option! Has anyone got/had any experience with the same issue? The garage says that they can be drilled out, helicoiled and a new replacement bleed nipple inserted, sounds easy enough however, with the cost for a new calliper block (Jaguar Main Agent, just over 1500 quid, those of a cynical disposition might comment, well they would say that wouldn't they!!) I am not convinced that this would be either a safe or even viable option, all or any sensible comments would be gratefully received. Many Thanks. Greencat

Hi Adrian, I believe JLR deleted the ability to speak with a "real person" - for our convenience. The Jaguar side of the InControl seems to be fraught with difficulty, but not the Land Rover side for some reason. There is an online "self help" booklet, see the link below, don't know if you have already gone through this route, but it might help you get to the CRC (Customer Relations Centre). I was lucky enough to buy on of the last ICE F-Paces a year ago, registered to my cherished number plate. Just discovered JLR has cancelled this subscription as it can out on my ‘old’ F-Pace which was of course on the same cherished number plate. My local dealer is having trouble sorting this, does anyone have a phone number I can call at JLR please?

2008 XFS V8 r supercharged for sale. I have had it for 5 years and had a lot of fun with it, but I am now retired so it's time to let it go. It has 162,000 on the clock but has full service history and has been maintained regardless of cost. Serviced every 10,000 miles. 8 months MOT. I am looking for around £6000. Thanks for looking. ChrisDHorner started following Rear Door Not Unlocking with Remote Control
-
2005 UK RHD Jaguar X-Type 3.0 V6 Sport Premium Estate Petrol Manual (now imported into Spain with Spanish registration). Two issues with door locks that may be co-incidental or linked in some way. Rear passenger door behind the UK RHD driver failing to unlock every time when using the remote control but unlocks OK when using the internal door lock handle. All three other doors unlock normally when using the remote control. Front driver´s door on the UK RHD side fails to unlock occasionally and only unlocks when the engine is turned off, the key removed and the car doors unlocked with the remote control from inside the car. Does anyone know how to resolve Issue 1, which I need to sort out before the next Spanish ITV (MOT) Test?

I have inspected all other doors, and I find that they are functioning properly, with the exception of the driver's side door, which I referenced in my post.
