I really need your help.... instrument cluster coding

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll get on it! I've seen a lot of info about SDD, sounds like i'll be investing. Genuinely though, if it takes getting someone over then I'll do it. The car is too pretty for it to be left not running! -

blimey, seems bit drastic to just disconnect cluster and then 'loosing' it completely - there must have been more to this than only disconnect 'issue' (not saying of your doing) 馃槓 your best option is to get SDD software and let someone program it remotely - this way you won't need anyone to fly over 馃槈 if you are on facebook, join jaguar forums, there's programming magician Sul Jay, i'm sure he will help. let us know how you get on. -

Hi guys, I recently bought myself a really nice toy, 2011 5.0 XK. Excited with my new toy, was trying to sort all the little things to make it perfect and in a moment of idiocy, I've broke it. Properly. I removed the instrument cluster trying to see if I could get rid of the flashing AFS light and cure a little rattle at the same time. When I reconnected it, the cluster is blank and the car won't even try to start. Head unit, etc powers up but the instrument cluster is blank and the start button does nothing. From what I can figure and a basic scan tool, theres an error code about having lost communication with the cluster and it needs recoding to the car. So far, so stupid me - I get it, trying to bodge a fix and !Removed! things up more. But, I'm really stuck and need all the help I can muster from the community, because here's the twist... I work abroad. In Hong Kong. Which is where the car is. I've been in touch with the local main dealer who are not interesting in coming out to look at it - I tried having it recovered to them but the guy couldn't get his truck out the car park with the car on it. I can't find any local specialists, so right now I have a big Spectrum blue paperweight. I am open to absolutely anything now, including if I have to, putting someone on a plane to come out here and fix it. I just need to find someone on this Earth who knows what needs doing. So here I am, new to you, fingers crossed asking for any help at all.

If memory serves, the locking nuts have a removable sleeve to allow the "key" to fit in the end of the nut. As such, the locking nut doesn't have the same tight fitting sleeve, just a relatively loose one. Funny (ish) story, i removed all 4 locking nuts on mine prior to replacing the tyres. In between removing each wheel and fitting a new tyre then refitting and then going to replace the locking nuts, i managed to lose the "key". That decided me, they'd be replaced with normal nuts. By strange coincidence, after fitting replacement wheels to my Honda, i lost the locking nut "key" and had to buy a locking wheel nut remover kit. Done one so far but the rest won't be long, been hoping the key would turn up............

Hi As we are soon to embark on a ferry crossing to France in our 2006 XJ6 TDiV6. Overnight Portsmouth - St Marlo so a long one How do I disable the alarm? Is it double press on the key fob? Use the key in the door lock? Is there a button to press inside then press lock on key fob? Leave unlocked? Last thing I want and the ships crew want is a Jag with a flat battery!

Noticed some of the sleeves are a bit loose on a few nuts so gonna replace them with solid ones. Do the locking nuts suffer the same fate? TIA
