At long last I've finally taken the plunge and bought my dream car, a low-milage 1999 4.0 V8 S-Type in Silver. It's got a few issues but I'm gradually working my way throught them - just need to fix the sat-nav and we're there.

I've always been averse to buying automatics but having driven this one, I can't believe I've not bought one before.

Personally I'm 48 years old, married for 27 years and a Firefighter from Hampshire and now the envy of my watch,

Hi

Just bought a classic S Type and wondering what I've let myself in for. I live near Shrewsbury and would like to find contacts for spares and parts etc.

Cheers Paul

Hi Steve, and welcome to the Club.

You will enjoy the S Type, and, having had cars with auto boxes for 13 years, know that once you have made your left leg redundant, driving becomes easier.

Regards,

Peter.

Hi Paul, and welcome to the club.

You have got an iconic car.

There are quite a few places you can find spares.  I have used the David Manners Group and I hear that SNG Barrett are also quite good.

If you are looking for used parts, Breakeryard is a company that can locate one for you via their links with there dismantlers.

There was also a S Type rebuild on Wheeler Dealers some time ago which I think you will be able to find on You Tube.

Regards,

Peter.
