Hi,

Having a needle in the haystack experience with s type. Initially had parking brake warning sign flash during winter months which seemed to rectify itself a few days later. Engine coolant light top flashed along with windscreen water level. Both disappeared by themselves. Ran fine for a few months then engine coolant light came on again. Topped up and fine. Now the car will not start and beeps when key is removed from ignition. Had jaguar dealer run diagnostic and not fault found. Weird. Have had a further diagnostic carried out. Looks as though the system is not communicating. All front earths checked and fine everything else appears fine however still will not start. Three diagnostic checks later and no further forward. New battery installed and still no response. Anyone got any suggestions other than the crusher.

Welcome to the Club, Tony.

I a bit mystified as you seem to have done all the right things.  At a guess, my thoughts are with the key itself, and suggest that a good auto locksmith might know the answer.

There will be a few members a bit more knowledgeable than myself who could also offer suggestions.

Regards,

Peter.

Thanks Peter,

I did replace the key in November although it might be worth a bash.

Cheers

Thanks Peter,

Just had the key checked and the PATS fine flashes four times appears that it's not the key. Parking brake, ABS, Engine Coolant warning lights flashing. Anyone know of a local chap or chapess experienced with this model?

Thanks

Hi Tony,

Independent Jaguar specialists are hard to come by, but MacMillan Jaguar in Motherwell  --  try site on internet --  seem to be a family competent set of people.

Let me know what you think of them if they are not too far away.

Regards,

Peter.
