Extremely happy at my new purchase (2001 XJ8 4 ltr in Blue) drivers like I always dreamed it would but I also know the future does hold some expensive costs, so my question (I'm sure other have written the same) is what can I expect in the near future, the thing of beauty has covered 65000 so far but still pulls like a train and as the slogan says "grace, style and pace" in abubdance.

Hi Gwyn, and Welcome to the club.

 

Just enjoy your car and don't think about the costs. It may surprise you that if you have a good look around for serving etc it will not be that expensive.

 

My 8 year old S Type has just passed its MOT  without even an advisory  & has had a full service and oil change and all filters changed with all other fluids changed too.  Total cost £240  ---   and the oil not used given to me!

 

I did not use a main dealer!!
