Hi all,

I have a jaguar X type 2008 SE auto. Really nice car but the suspension is too firm and harsh!

Anything that can be done?

Maybe a different suspension lot etc.?

Hi Muatez, and welcome to the Club.

I have heard that there are several levels of suspension, so I am sure that something can be done.  I had read somewhere that there is a Sports version of suspension and a Comfort level.

It is worth making an enquiry at a good garage.

Hi

I don't know how you are complaining about an x type se, as they are fitted with a Touring Suspension. If you had said it was a Sport or premium Sport Suspension i would agree with you, the only thing i can think of is somebody has Fitted Poly Bushes as these will make the Suspension more Firm .

Hi Muatez

I'm in agreement with Tom on this and I would also check the tyres .???

they make a real difference the type and the pressures ---Just a thought.????

How do I check what the suspension is?

I was advised to fit touring suspension, I didn't realise this car already had touring suspension?

The car has full jaguar service history so I doubt the previous owner would have messed with the suspension or bushes.

As Frank said check the tyres , what Make of tyre , size 16,17,18 ,and the tyre pressures. Are they original tyres if so they may need changing i changed my last 2 in March as they started to get quite noisy. It would be easy to check if poly bushes are Fitted as they are hard plastic compared to rubber, I would contact the jaguar dealer that is Stamped on the Service Book and see what they say.

Tom
