engine stops while on motion when break is applied or when stationary

engine stops when break is applied while the car is on motion or sometimes when the car is stationary

can anyone that has experienced this please educate me on how to go about this problem I have with my car

I have come across engine cut outs before but not when the brake is applied, although if stopping/slowing down is causing the cut out it could be possibly a fuel pump fault.

Iv'e not had this problem on my X Type but I did on a car a few years back and so I think you have a

really bad vacuum leak on you brake booster so when you apply your brake the leak changes the

engine mixture stopping it.???

 

Get someone to check the booster while you press the brake.???
