I have the single cd player and radio fitted to my 2002 facelift model, is it possible to replace it with the satnav. If so what is required to change it and is it easily done.

it's an absolute nightmare to retro fit.

Theres a thread on www.jaguarforum.co.uk for fitting it to an X type which is very similar.

you really need the diner car so you can get every loom and relay etc to swap over.

Good luck!!

I have just completed a retro fit of a sat nav. It is not a plug in play unless you already have the sat nav fitted thats just because you need the wiring loom, plugs or of course make your own.

I hard wired the cables into the screen and DVD player, and then connected these to the (IP65) existing harness which connects to the standard radio.

I had the digital temp control the additional parts I needed were the obvious screen and DVD player also the RCCM unit which is for the  plugs from the Digital temp display oh and of course the aerial.

I have been told the "S Type" already has the harness in place for an upgrade but all I can say is I couls not find anything close to the plugs needed So I spent 3 months getting the details right and Yes Yipee I have done it.

If you dont want to solder then just forget it.

Let me know if you need some more help

By the way the sat nav screen also will give instructions to your message display

Everything is harmless just try and see is my motto

I've been it!

I removed the whole loom from my last S then sit there for about 6 hours slowly picking the sat nav, voice and Bluetooth wires from the main loom.

Strangely my satnav never displayed the messages in the message display area until I retrofitted Jaguarvoice....

Well... it isn't a five minute job for sure but it didn't strike me as a nightmare

As Andy says, easiest with a donor car as you can see where all the bits go and can be sure you have everything.
