I just managed my first successful re-programming of The Princess using the Mongoose / SDD software.

My VACM now controls all the kit it should control, including my retro-fitted CDC.

There were one or two brown trouser moments when it threw up communication errors but all came out right in the end.

Not a great achievement for those who have been using SDD for yonks I understand but for me? Well... dead chuffed. And a little more confidence to explore further.

Well done that man.........I would suggest there will be a flurry of comments and questions on this one as it seems to be a regular topic on the forum. We all learn by asking and trying until we succeed and you've certainly thrown yourself into this one! Retro fits are something many people want to do but never seem to be able to get direct answers or advice on so I thank you personally as I've been a tiny part of the question section initially when I came down to yours asking the question why won't my retro fitted voice do the right commands! Frustrating but...it now appears you've been at it answering the question.

Look forward to seeing it all functioning tomorrow when I come down.

Take care and again....well done.

Hi Steve,

The Jaguar Owners Manual I find is quite good but certain issues it points you immediately to a main dealer who generally looks at the size of you wallet before looking at the problem you have.

I have got into the habit of downloading many of the answers to problems, and I suppose that one day I will put them all together, but in the meantime I have quite a few papers with my owners manual which have saved me quite a few shillings and kept my car operating well.

Regards,

Peter.

... and further still.

Successfully managed to program key fobs to a Jaguar S-Type today .

Understandably somewhat nervous as before you can add key-fobs you have to delete all key-fobs. However, it went very smoothly.

Also had a good tinker around in the dealer options and changed a few of those around as well :yahoo:

Hi Paul

Would definitely like to know in detail the procedures for re-programming key fobs if you don't mind  but being the scaredy cat that I am, if all fails is there a plan B? e.g mobile auto locksmith to save the day, or would it mean getting her collected by a tow truck and send her to a main dealership? I have a spare fob that stopped working awhile ago, so would like to fix that if possible.

Regards

Steve

Steve, I can't see how the procedure would foul up if you followed the instructions but even if it should do so, all that would happen is that you'd need to use your keys to manually lock and unlock your car.

Oh, and there's nobody more "scaredy-cat" than I am... That's why I practice on other people's cars
