Hello all

I acquired a very nice X-Type saloon 2.2d SE on a 55 plate recently, my first Jaguar. I've only done 1500 miles so far and love the car, at least in part because I purchased from a dealer with very good after-sales service, who put right the couple of issues I had to begin with. I've had many cars in my time, but never before has one turned as many heads, or started as many conversations, as this one has! Looking forward to learning and contributing as much as I can on this forum!

Welcome to the club.

The x type is a great car and still gets plenty off comments on the shape and as long as you service it ( only use genuine jaguar oil and fuel filters ) it will serve you well.

The only real issue with some cars are the metal sills rusting at the front or rear behind the plastic cover sills.

Regards Tom.

Thanks chaps for the welcome. I had a look at the sills before purchasing, and they look pretty corroded, but as the car had just passed an MOT with no advisories I figured it couldn't be as bad as it looked. Time will tell if my supposition turns out to be rubbish!
