Can anyone help please, my 2004, 2.7 S type has a problem which seems unfixable, every 30 mins without fail the lights flash whether the car is locked or not, also if the car is unlocked and not opened for 20 mins or so the alarm goes off when the door is opened, this results in the battery discharging after 5 or 6 days, two visits to separate workshops for diagnostics have failed to reveal anything, been trying to resolve this for months, can anyone help please

Regards

Sounds like there is a fault door sensor which could be the reason for the discharge.

Is the interior light on with the doors closed?

Hi Trevor, thank you very much for your reply, the interior light stays on initially after closing the door but goes off after 15 seconds or so, so I'm hopefully guessing that the sensors are ok, the car is going in for further diagnostics next week and fingers crossed we can find the problem, it's driving me nuts.

Would the faulty door sensor make the lights flash every 30 mins?

Kind regards

Hi

Best way is to get it plugged in to Jaguar IDS/SDD it will give you faults

it will also tell you whats triggering the alarm

the alarm going off with out opening the door is also standard, it active arming and can be turned off in dealer options

sounds like you have a fault on the security system/alarm and the alarm is activating on it own

on IDS/SDD software there country selection and options for the alarm, you need to get these checked, i'm sure you can even disable the alarm in dealer options as well

cheers

Joe
