Leaper removal ?

Hi i'm about to purchase my X Type 2.2D which has the leaper fitted, it looks brilliant but concerned it will attract people wanting to rip it off.

Is there a preferred way of removing it etc ?

Hi Kevin---Sorry to disagree but I like to see the leaper I fitted one to my X Type and people have said it looks more like a Jaguar

with it on and Ive had it on for about 4 years and no one has touched it ????--The leaper only cost £23 on eBay so they wouldn't get much.???

Hi

The leaper looks ok if its fitted correct, the one you are looking at has been fitted very badly, as its been put on backwards

so you could either snap the locating pin off and fit it the correct way or just remove it and fit a badge to hide the hole, plenty of jaguar bonnet badges out there

Thanks so much with feedback etc regarding my leaper, I will correct it’s position and see how I feel in a week or two whether I remove it or not. So pleased with it so comfy and smooth......

I agree. Mine isn’t currently fitted with one but I just feel it’s not complete somehow. I don’t like the idea of drilling holes in my bonnet but the result will be worth it 🤓
