Recently purchased a 2009 XF Portfolio 3.0 diesel.  It has 107000 miles on it and seems to have been well maintained.

however , a week after getting it I started to get error messages,‘pedestrian system inop’, battery warning , ‘fuel level low’(even when half full) , takes the fuel reading to zero then after a minute or two goes back to its previous reading...  it will then settle on the pedestrian system fault .  All this usually happens while the car is being driven.!  Also while it’s having one of these episodes the indicators don’t work..

it usually  clears when I stop the car and leave it for a few minutes,  And restart it,but occasionally it won’t start at all.

ive changed the battery, and it was fine for about 10 days but the symptoms have now re appeared, happening 3 times in one day.

ive had a number of suggestions, alternator fault, or fitting a none Jaguar new battery , or earthing problems.

can anyone help?

thanks

Neal
