Running cost on Jaguar XF

Hi All just looking for some buying advice and thoughts on repair costs on getting a Jaguar XF approx 2010 model 3L, I have always like the jaguar styling and I am looking to buy a 2010 XF but no notjing realy on what to look for in terms of a good model and approx repair costs on a car like this so any information you could offer would be really appreceated thanks in advance

Hi Brian and welcome.

I've have a high mileage 2011 XF (pre upgrade). Apart from getting the gearbox oil changed as soon as I bought it (there was no mention of it in the service history), I've had no real problems with it, it's passed the  MOT every time with no problems, a service at the time is the only time it's been in a garage. I had a problem with the fuel gauge, which, told in another post, took me a Youtube video and about 45 minutes to fix, a fob battery warning which turned out to be the battery on th spare fob, and a thermostat leak which luckily happened during a service so was repaired at cost. Going by my car only, I can only whole heartily recommend it.   I hope this helps.

Try and find one with at least two key fobs as that will save you a few hundred from adding extra(s) up front.

Look for full service  history, any MOT advisories and have they been done gives an indication on how the car has been looked after and don't  think they are no more pricier to maintain than any other larger car just find a good lndie jag specialist

I brought a 2010 3.0 V6 back in 2021. since then:

Fan pulley replaced

Rear suspension arm replaced

4 new tyres (standard really)

front and rear pads and discs (again standard)

Cam belt with water pump

Door lock issues

Bluetooth issues

Parking sensor issues

Cross over valve replaced

and the general servicing. 

It does sound a lot, and to be fair, this has cost me a small fortune, but the car should continue for a good few years now and I have had no issues since these were resolved (touch wood)

thanks that was great now have the XF had a new cam belt etc and water pump and new brake pads all the way around but got a warning light for warn brake pads any idea how to clear cheers and thatnks for the advise

Do you have a code reader? If so, this should be able to clear the fault, unless the pad sensor was damaged when being replaced?
