  1. I wouldn't call that a poverty spec. I have the heated windscreen and wouldn't like to be without it, though at the time of purchase it would not have been a deal breaker. Like you, I am puzzled by "less sound system" but, as you say, it obviously must have one. I would welcome the fact that it doesn't have TPMS, which used to give spurious warnings on my XF.

  2. So after replacing the relay without success I asked the garage to take a look whilst it was in for an aircon service and they found the heater element connector tab had broken away from the element. I've managed to solder this back on and fingers crossed it will stay put, otherwise it'll be a combination of solder for the electrical connection and epoxy adhesive for mechanical strength. Thanks to those who commented. Rich

  3. Just joined & need some advice. We have had the S-Type since new (2007) & my wife & I both still love the car. It's done just over 24,000 miles and is unmarked. We have the car serviced by the local Jaguar dealer who, at the last service advised that a 'scuttle panel screw cover' is missing. After a lot of searching I've discovered that what it's called in the service manual is a 'Cowl Panel Grille Retaining Screw Cover' (see Photo). I have a suspicion that the cover may have got lost during the service at the dealers, as I'm certain that I would have noticed its absence before, however I can't prove it, so I'll need to source a replacement. Does anyone know the part number and/or where I can get one from, avoiding the ridiculous prices that Jaguar OEM parts cost?
