i dont blame you, 3rd party equipment will involve a faceplate which never looks nice, so sticking standard is best, epsecially when coming to selling.

DIN stands for "Deutsches Institut für Normung" It is the standard size for car audio systems, so a normal stero is a single DIN and a double size system is double DIN.
Do you have a picture of it?

reputible coach builders in your area should do the job, but gets quotes and see some samples before going ahead.
You yellow pages will show all the local coach builders.

If it is a single DIN unit then should be straight forward, you might be able to use the same harness, otherwise you'll need to have a new harness made up

I reckon you will have a hard time, unless it is deemed dangerous then they may get away with it.
The tread on the car does matter, and is recommdended to keep the same tyre brand a ype on the same axle, but it wont make you un-roadworthy
I also think that you could have a buckled alloy. But since you bought it in march there is no proof that they sold it to you like that. They will use any excuse in the book.

It may be the heating flap (my minds gone blank on the name) that is stuck open.
does it make any noises? try it with the ignition on (not the engine) at the lowest fan setting to hear if the flap moves at all?

Welcome to the Jaguar owners Club
This problem may be due to a sticky door lock, when you request the door to lock then one of the door locks does'nt fully lock properly, it cannot carry out the last request fully.
When the car is unlocked can you click the unlock button again to see if the locks click? even though they are already open they may click or the car lights will flash. At least you can then eliminate the fob, and the car central locking system is responding.

could possibly be stuck... maybe driving down a bumpy side road may release it.. if it is stuck.

The 2.0d definatly is a 5 speed box and your right the 2.2 has a 6 speed box.
i would have the garage check if it is 5speed or 6 speed. Perhaps it had a new gear knob added, anything over 100k miles is gonna look shabby so traders replace them.

Dear Jaguar Club Members
Last week the Jaguar Owners Club had its first official club meet, visiting Jaguar's Castle Bromwich assembly plant and Jaguar's Heritage Centre just down the road.
About fifteen people turned out to enjoy a friendly get-together of Jaguar enthusiasts.
We met at Jaguar's Heritage Centre and spent a good hour or so marvelling at iconic Jag's such as the SS1 Coupe and the rarest of them all the XJ13. Having enjoyed such rare views and everyone having selected their most favourite classic, we decided to refresh in the gardens of a beautiful old pub around the corner, taking full advantage of the gorgeous weather.
Forming a nice convey of Jags, we then swiftly proceeded to the manufacturing plant where friendly staff greeted us and three fantastic new Jaguar's were on display in the reception hall. The tour reflected the quality of the brand, with highly knowledgable retired factory managers guiding groups of around 8 through the inner workings of the plant. Lasting around 2 hours, the tour took us to all areas of the factory apart from the paint shop (out of bounds due to risk of contamination), culminating with an extremely shiny black Jaguar rolling off the production line.
Common consensus was that the experience was excellent and in keeping with all that Jaguar represents. For photos of the visit please go to the Jaguar Owners Club gallery, where you will find Jag's to make your mouth water. Take a look and let us know what you think.
We hope to be able to organise similar events in the very near future.
