  1. Over the last week or so the site has had it’s ups and downs with downtime. This was due to us filling up one of our partitions on the server which holds the databases.

This morning I have moved the the databases to a much larger partition and should no longer cause any issues.

Apologies for this and hopefully it is now all sorted and you guys can get on enjoying the club.

    cheers
    Steve

  2. There has been a date set for a factory tour in march... I cannot give the exact date until i open up the entry form.

Keep your eyes open for an email with a link to the entry form.

We are also looking at some other events real soon.

  3. So for a bit of fun it would be great to see what we can buy out there for little money. There are a lot of cars out there that are going for peanuts and there are some real tasty performers too. So here is the challenge, what could you buy from http://www.autotrader.co.uk for 3000 quid or less? The winner will be based on performance and price. It can be any brand and must be road legal.

Post your answers and even a link if you can. Remember it has to be under 3k.

  4. Personally the stype is much more refined, but the x-type is still quite a luxury motor.

The x-type gets a lot of stick for it's ford connections, but still a nice looking motor, better looking than the older s-type models in my opinion, although they improved the s-type in the facelift model

Best thing is to have a test drive and see what you think John

  5. Hi

Welcome to the Jaguar Owners Club John.

Diesels should tow a caravan no problem. However, you may need to check with your dealer if the transmission needs a cooler. I am not too sure if one is needed or available, so worth checking.

S-type is more refined but the X-type is still a nice car. The S-type is bigger as well. The X-type was a competitor to the Audi A4, BMW 3-Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class as the S-type is more of a competitor for the Audi A6, BMW 5-Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class and CLS-Class.

As you are towing then you should be aware that the X-type comes in FWD and 4WD versions and the S-type is RWD

Let us know how you get on :)
