Hi Trevor, did you take this any further? If so, I might be interested in joining you

Hi Mark....it's getting close to the deadline but if there are enough members wanting to attend and make up the minimum number required for a stand then I am more than happy to arrange it all.....just need more responses!

But, I'll put you down as a potential attendee and then that makes three of us

  2. Hi Salvatore....welcome to the Club

Here is a link to a Tyre Pressure guide  http://bit.ly/tyrepressures

If in doubt I would probably work on the principle that it is slightly better to have a little more than less but I would probably take it to 1 or 2 psi around the 33psi (e.g. 34 - 35 psi) and see how the handling is affected while checking the wear pattern on the tread.

Bear in mind also, the tyre temperature when checking pressures, as that alters considerably when the air temperature inside the tyre is increased (which can rise quite a few psi when the tyre is hot)....also bear in mind the accuracy of the pressure gauge you are using....the ones on the pumps at the petrol station are usually way out of calibration so you are better off having a pocket type gauge (either manual or electronic type).

    Cheers,   Trevor

  3. Hi Dominic...welcome to the Club

You could try some of the local (Dorset based) Jaguar specialists....Dorset Sports Cars, Marina Garage, Hollygrove Jaguar to name a few or otherwise there is a really good air conditioning specialist on the Ringwood Road industrial estate that may be able to source a generic component that would work.

    Good to have you onboard

    Cheers,  Trevor

p.s....good collection of cars over the years!

    • Thanks 1
  4. Hi Chris...welcome to the Club

Why not come along to the Midlands event (not that far away from you)....would be great for you to show your XJS with the Club

Give these guys a call as I used to source performance Cats through them for MG Rovers and Jaguars many years ago....hopefully they might be able to assist.

    Good to have you onboard

    Cheers,    Trevor

  5. There are a few Jaguar Owners Club events occurring this Summer that you may not be aware of so I thought I would post it here to promote some response and hopefully get a good number of Members to attend on a Club Stand

Here is one that is based in the heart of the truly picturesque New Forest and would be ideal for any Southern-based Members (not that we have a problem with any Northerners attending 😁) .... If it's something you would like to attend, please respond to this post and I can draw up an Attendance List.

Also, look out a for a special announcement of another event that is occurring in the Midlands that is being laid on especially for the Club.

  6. Hi Neil....welcome to the Club

The X-Type is a great model and has had some bad press for some issues that have been picked up on over the years.
But generally, it is the same as any other vehicle on the road in as much as it needs regular routine maintenance to remain reliable and give many years of service.

Good to have you onboard and feel free to post up any pics of the Jag if you would like to.

    Cheers,   Trevor

Also, I know that Jaguar state that the Castrol oil needs to be used but my XF is a 2009 so I'm not worried about warranties etc - any particular oil that anyone uses?  There seem to be a few examples of C1 spec oil on Opie - any particularly better than others?

I would highly recommend Petronas which they sell in Halfords...been running that in everything I own and not one issue (yet)
