  1. Ken,

Exactly the same price as my XKR 5 litre supercharged 510BHP with Endsleigh inusrance . But I am in God's waiting room, and live in a low crime area down here in the sticks, road wise all we have to look out for is the odd sheep, tractors, and caravans.

  2. Kenny,

I've just had a letter saying that my pension is going to be means tested, and I will still have to pay council tax at the full rate (as do all pensioners I think) . They have also stopped my carer's allowance for looking after the wife who is mentally ill , as you can't claim it, and receive a pension .

Fills my heart with pride when I walk round town and see the work shy getting a free living !

But at least I have a Jaaaag !

    ATB,

  3. Ken,

I should have been Welsh really. It was only by accident I was up north, my parents weren't living there, my mum was visiting her mother and I came along two months early , but returned to the valleys after 14 days .

The S type does look like the old Mark 2, or "a proper Jag" as the wife calls it , that's why she pestered me to get rid of the XJ Supersport, which was a brilliant car .

  4. Dear Chris,

Sounds an excellent car and I hope all goes well, there seems to be some knowledgeable people on here that are only to willing to help .

I wouldn't put too much credence in the Jaguar/ Aston Martin (AKA junk) specialist though if they're anything like the stealership I used .

I do like the look of the S type,Peter has one and seems to know a lot about them and I'm sure can give you plenty of advice .

  5. Peter,

Ours is huge , you are more than welcome to them up there, not that they work half of the time, there are 22 of them they are gigantic and noisy . It keeps the tree huggers happy, but there again, they don't have to live near them .

Them and the ugly solar panels that are appearing in all the fields down this way are rapidly making sure our beautiful countryside is rapidly being ruined.

It is just the latest fad, just like the ozone layer was .

    ATB,

  6. Peter,

The average speed things are a more sensible idea, if you remember to set the cruise control. I don't go driving fast round the country anyway though, and wouldn't mind cameras if they were purely for safety.

Just renewed my car insurance, the chap said " We can save you this trouble next year by just automatically renewing your policy . " I said to him, " I didn't think of falling for that one, but that is the reason I'm phoning ",

It is one of the insurance companies little scams , they send out renewal notices which are far higher than if you enter the details on their website (£70 pound saved in my case) . But the amount of people who just automatically renew is staggering, and now they want to take it one step further, just do it without telling you how much their !Removed! you for !

  7. Peter,

There shouldn't be any cameras at all , they are there just to make money, that's why I love the A303 (in Wiltshire) early in the morning .

P.S. Tonight's star prize goes to the first person who can guess which one of our members has  been caught speeding in a car, on a Tandem, and on a racing bicycle

  8. Jai,

A hydrid? you must be vegetarian young man !

The XF is indeed a fab car. It was when the stealership lent me a XF (albeit a devils fuel one) whilst the Aston Martin was having one of it's frequent visits to the workshop that made my mind up my next car would be a Jag .

It came around a lot quicker than expected , The Aston was on it's holiday being repaired again at the stealership (transmission failure amongst numerous other things) when a woman drove in to the garage (in a Jag) and mangled it . She did me a huge favour !

  9. James,

Jaguar owners do get up early , something you will get used to and enjoy in time .

Don't take my views too seriously I'm only teasing most of the time , but it is surprising the back biting you get from some people just because you can afford a few things ( don't mean people on here ) .

You have what the wife calls a "proper Jag" , and at the moment she is pestering me to buy a XKR-S convertible , which isn't sensible as it rains more in Ilfracombe than it dies in Wales (it really does) .

This is the car she is badgering me over:, my XKR is less than two years old, but that's women for you!

P.S, what time would you like your early morning call tomorrow

  10. Peter,

the other solution is to say you really like the s type 3.0 litre  and there are some going for under £5k.

She would say " Really" and want me to go and get one tomorrow. That's why she hated the XJ Supersport so much, she said it wasn't a proper Jag like the S Type

I will show her some pics on Autotrader and tell you what she says

    ATB,

    Trevor
