Welcome to the Club, Ron.
I used to have an X Type [200] which had 17" wheels and ran on Pirellis.
Jaguar recommend either Pirellis or Continentals. A friend [who sells Vredestein Tyres] told me not to touch Continentals.
I run my S Type on Pirellis with 18" Wheels.
Regards,
Peter.

Us Lancashire folk always regarded the South as starting when you crossed the Mersey towards Runcorn, but generally most Northerners regards the Trent as the defining landmark.
I was once asked in London if I was a foreigner.

Peter.

Guys. Just had an email failure message for the email address you provided for Trevor
Do you have another email address I can send my details through to ?!
Many thanks
Sorry, Mark. Senior moment with memory!
Regards,
Peter.

Welcome to the Club, Steve.
You will get a lot of help from those who are experts in the Club, and there are quite a few very helpful people.
Like Trevor, I do not know a lot about the technical parts of cars, just 50 years of driving them.
Regards,
Peter.

Of course, Trevor. In the Midlands and the North we felt the same. When the Government wanted Coal and Steel they could not do more for those areas. When the Government decided they didn't need coal and Steel any more we got forgotten.
Regards,
Peter.

Hi, Mark and welcome to the Club.
key fobs are a bit of a mystery, and I think with the electrical but being dead you could have to be going to a dealer or a Jaguar specialist to get the bit you need.
There is a topic on the Forum concerning Independent garages, who will be cheaper than a main dealer, and it will be worth having a look at that.
Regards,
Peter.

Dear Peter,
Works well with the Supercharger on my XJ also
ATB,
Trevor
I bet it is! Low flying springs to mind!
When the West of England is dried out you will enjoy it more.
We are very lucky up here, but still can't understand why the Government has been so slow in doing something a bit more serious than they have.
Regards,
Peter.

I'm intrigued. What are these stickers ?!
Jaguar Owners Club for from and rear of car. They look really great.
Trevor [the young one] will send them to you.
Regards,
Peter.

Sounds great MJR.
That sports button is brilliant, especially in a diesel when the twin turbos show what they are for.

Peter.

My favourite part of the world, Paul. The first date with my wife. The same day the Triumph T100 blew up. The place of our honeymoon, and the venue with the children and grandchildren for my 80th birthday and our 50 years together in June.
Enjoy the day.
Regards
Peter.

Tuppence is often worth a tanner, Jim.

I have had that, but it just came and went.
I gave the car a good run into Derbyshire on Wednesday, fish and chips lunch, and plenty of fresh air.
The engine returned 37 mpg, even though coming back I had the "S" button pressed to give the DPF a good regeneration.

Welcome to the Club, John.
There are lots of very helpful members in the club.
I am just an old Steelworker whose favourite tool is a lump hammer -- but never on a Jaguar!
Regards,
Peter.

I am thinking of front light surrounds for my S Type. They do look quite good. I did get a smallish Leaping Jaguar for the boot lid and it does look great.

Welcome to the Club, Tom.
There are quite a few experts who own x types-- nice cars -- who might have an idea.

Peter.

Sutton Coldfield, now, but I've worked in Motherwell, Workington, Teesside, Scunthorpe, Leeds, Bradford, Rotherham, Sheffield, Corby, the Black Country, Birmingham, Stoke - on - Trent, Shotton, Port Talbot, Newport, & London.
Luckily I only had to move house 3 times.

Welcome to the Club, Robin..
I don't know the answer to that problem, but I am sure someone will.

Peter.

My Tivo Box has to reboot when things go funny.
Why can't Jaguar put a reboot switch on the dashboard?
I think it would be a good idea, but I suppose putting a manual locking system on the XJ and XF boots comes first!

Hi Vinendra,
Nice to see you posting. And can I say that is a useful bit of information.
Regards,
Peter. -
G' Morning Clive,
Try Adamesh. There are loads of bits than can both embellish and upgrade your car.
They are a reputable company.
Regards,
Peter.

Welcome to the Club, Mark.
A lot of very helpful members here.
I think the E Type Challenger is a replica car, made, I guess, with Jaguar parts.
Regards,
Peter.

Hi Kevin,
If the cars you are looking at have a full service history it should show if the cam belts have been changed. On the 2.7 Diesel in the S type they have to be changed at 105k, but I don't know about the X Type.
Regards,
Peter.

And a welcome from me, too, Clive.
I hope you enjoy the Club.
Regards,
Peter.
New to Jaguar...

I had been working in North Wales and indeed lived there, but taking a new job forced a move to Sheffield where most people thought I was Welsh. I had to tell them that I was worse than that --- I was a Lancastrian, and I had been sent to Yorkshire as a missionary to teach them how to play cricket and Rugby League.
The Yorkshire accent, and indeed dialect come quite easily. "Us do it reet in Yorkshire, 'cos that's us job."
