    What Steve has said is correct.

    It would be useful if you could mention what model your car is and when the battery was last replaced.

    My s type  [2007 Diesel] is spending a lot of time on the driveway and inspire of the battery being new I find that it still needs charging weekly.

  2. Welcome to the club, Kevin.

    My 13 year old s type gives me a great ride.  It has the 2.7 Diesel engine, holds the road well, and with Premium fuel and a dash of Millers Eco Plus Diesel I have never had a real problem with the engine.

  3. I don't think so.  Just replace the one that is not working.

    GO to a main dealer and they will diagnose which one is faulty for £162 + VAT and then charge you £+++ for fitting the duff one.

    My mechanic did it for about £0 for finding out which one it was and fitted it [Rear involving taking off the rear bimper about £50.
