  1. Hi Neil, David Manners is quite close to where I live and they are very good — prices not too expensive either. Jaguar Parts 24/7 are good second hand parts too. www.jaguarparts247.co.uk. — 07748 280772. Regards, Peter.
  2. Welcome to the club, Graham. You will enjoy driving a Jaguar — I wanted one in 1964 but I did not get one [£££££ not enough] until 2011. — x type and then an s type which I have enjoyed for nearly 9 years. Regards, Peter.
  3. Hi Malcolm, What happens on colder days is when the engine starts up a small fume will come out of the heater. It will only take a minute or so and the heater will be just warming up. Jim has been quite correct. Regards, Peter.
  4. Welcome to the Club, Mick. I have the S Type 2.7 diesel [07], and have owned in for eight and a half years without any real problems. Battery issues have existed now and then and to avoid them I bought a Ctek charger and put a connection outside the garage where I cam make sure the battery never runs out of its needs. Batteries on the 5 type last about 5 years. Windscreen issues in the winter can be avoided by a windscreen cover overnight - a plastic or even a cardboard cover can do the job. It could be that the heater for the windscreen needs an examination — it had been known that a replacement windscreen had not had the heater element. Good luck for the future. Regards, Peter.
  5. Hi Gary, As I thought the DPF was part of the problem. Luckily I had thought of the EGR valves as was said by the AA engineer . I though that the cost would have been about £275, but my mechanic took my car and came up with a different answer which saved the EGR replacement. His solution was to clean the whole exhaust and he had a mechanic friend who could do the work and de did for £180, My s type is now as smooth as ever! Regards, Peter.
