  1. Thanks for the offer but I would rather watch it from my car window parked trackside ;-)
  2. I was contemplating attending but 24th May Monaco Grand Prix hmmm I wont be in Brighton thats for sure sorry
  3. I could have told you lol its on the top of the throttle body assembly (the Y piece between the two manifolds) little sensor towards the back held in place by a single screw are you by anychance seeing restricted performance or the car going into limp mode when you come off the power after accelerating?? if so i know what the problem could be.... Rich
  4. take a look at this one :-) http://www.jaguarownersclub.com/forums/topic/11257-s-type-r-for-sale/
  5. Dependant on cost of course lol not a good buy if it's 20k
  6. to be honest I would have thought that if it was a known fault with software they should have done the job for free.... its not your fault the software wasn't written correctly in the first place surely.... also after looking at the PDF 0.4 hours £125 thats a very expensive car wash you took it to
  7. sorry didn't read that its all sorted now D'oh!!!
  8. I'm not sure on this but here goes... there will be sensors of some sort on each wheel usually on the brakes these are for both ABS and DSC to make sure all wheels are turning together at roughly the same speed (given tolerances for cornering) so I would start by having a look underneath to see if you can see any wires hanging that might have been unplugged and not plugged back in on completion I'm not sure it would be picked up on an OBD scanner as the car just thinks its in a skid and not really a fault.... Regards Richard
  9. Welcome John, The XF is a nice place to be I however have had problems with mine that I hope and seem to have now cured.... fingers crossed no problems for the last 5 days and with should I say very spirited driving :-) i am begining to love the car again so much so that I have been reading about the Scottish meet and am tempted it has to be said...
  10. to be honest the whole brand disregards you as soon as your car is out of warranty I have had numerous problems with my 59 plate XF and to be honest I dont think I would consider Jaguar as a desirable brand again, although I have to say for the last 5 days the car has been fault free maybe I have cured it???? but unlikely lol
  11. Peter if you carefully go around the door openings with a sharp knife this problem can be easily solved, also as an added bonus if you neglect to carry out this on the other 3 doors you dont have to carry passengers, however i feel it is important to stress that you refrain from covering the windows as this will stop the automatic wipers operating as they should and possibly will also cause the headlights to be on during daylight hours Kindest regards Richard
  12. personally I would drag it away from the dealership they have only one mission and unfortunately that is to empty your bank account as quickly as possible, I would then find a local mobile mechanic who is willing to come and take a look I would think they all have diagnostic equipment they can plug in these days
  13. yes can be a PITA would much rather it just did it and i drove on blissfully unaware lol
  14. Sat nav in the XF does know about traffic keeps asking if i want to divert to miss it...
  15. I used the Meguiars stuff on mine but then I bought the G220 V2 polisher too makes for very easy work with fantastic results
  16. Have you checked to ensure the alternator is doing what it is supposed to be doing..... as for the beeps keep hitting various parts of the dashboard with a big hammer untill said beeping ceases to exist Rich
  17. HI Paul I have had similar problems and the codes look familiar....... look at the intercooler this cracks on the drivers side (outlet) im sure you will find pictures if you search £750 to repair at Jaguar then the inlet manifold will burst...... top right handside just above injectors.... £1400 for Jaguar to repair then the throttle body assembly will probably fail £70 off ebay and I nailed that part on myself due to empty pockets but was easy enough :-) mine is also the Portfolio 3.0 XF-S most unreliable car I have ever owned and as Knightsmith says if your out of warranty Jaguar not remotely interested on the brighter side does anyone want to buy a Jaguar XF 3.0D S Portfolio in Pearl Grey whilst its still running????
  18. what you need is a really big hammer some petrol and a box of matches if the hammer doesnt work just set fire to the thing you will be doing yourself a favour in the long run
  19. its a real shame they have got their act together and are producing some awesome looking cars its just a great shame they are not building them to last there is no way in my opinion that the inlet manifold should be able to out live the rubber hoses that feed it surely but i guess that what you get from plastic engine components but still very poor show
  20. my XF has tints and I like em but I know mine is in the illegal spectrum as the 2 rear doors and back window are as dark as you can get and the 2 front door windows are a little lighter than the back but I know that if/when i get pulled I will have to remove the tint from the front 2
  21. lucky escape in my opinion DON'T buy a Jag they are crap had mine less than a year and the intercooler has burst and now the inlet manifold new inlet manifold £185+ VAT 7.3 hours to fit and a reduced rate still a cost of £700 + VAT I cant wait to get the thing fixed but then do I keep it or get rid is the next dilema oh and dont bother to call Jag they wont be in the slightest bit interested
  22. firstly DO NOT attempt any performance upgrades they can't handle what they already have... wait for your Intercooler to let go then just sit back and wait for the inlet manifold to burst its fantastic owning a car that should never have been let out of the design stage
  23. I have had the exact same issue always just after filling up I am putting it down to maybe over filling the tank
