  1. Well been on a 180 mile trip in mine today up to Stockton on Tees and managed to get 50.3mpg didn't think I would crack the 50 but I did let's see how we go on the way home tomorrow :-)
  2. if its the 2.2 diesel same as mondeo there is 2 thermostats one that went on mine is under the intake manifold easy to remove but be prepared for a clean up job the inside of that manifold will be rammed with oily cr*p
  3. my error i assumed it was an XF just because thats what i have lol
  4. just a thought..... dont know if you have ever done an ebay search for jaguar XF..... but there does seem to be a lot of header tanks on there does this mean its another common fault with the XF that the actual header tank fails..... or does it just mean that a lot of Jaguar XF's are getting smashed up??
  5. which makes that dot extremly important if you manage to blow the tyres up to 25 bar please take pictures then we can all see what an XF based monster truck would look like lol
  6. Hi John and welcome to the forum :-) now down to buisness lets see some pictures of this iconic car Rich

    HELP

I would think unlikely as the engine wouldnt have been turning over fast enough to cause massive damage that said im no mechanic and could be wrong...
  14. A quick update on this..... I recieved a call back from Jaguar customer service they wanted to know if my problem had been rectified which it has :-) and is still going strong lol and then totally out of the blue he apologised for the inconvienience and told me that he would put a voucher in the post to me to pay for my next service needless to say I was shocked... I have now recieved the voucher and I'm still in shock (should I have told them it is due a cambelt change at next service...) I dont think for a second they will do it for free but its gotta be worth a shot
  15. Hi James I have to agree with Peter this is a friendly place problem is no one knows anything lol Rich
  16. here's what i noticed when my DPF warning came on.... driving along and DPF warning came on so went for a drive to see if it would regenerate... nothing changed next day driving along set the cruise control and the warning instantly went out not sure if setting the cruise tells the car to regenerate???? could be complete coincidence but it hasn't been on since... Rich
  17. Well that's good news I have today ordered a K&N that should give me an extra 15mpg lol
  18. not a lot has reached Devon they are still hanging them for pinching sheep down there
  19. im guessing its the flap that locks?? might sound stupid but you know it only locks when the car is locked and i think there is a delay from when the doors are locked to when the flap locks...
  20. I do still think it is very poor for them not to offer a penny towards the cost of repair when it is a well documented problem with the xf and I live on the doorstep of where they are made not that that should make a difference but when it blows again I will have to look at a performance one thats all aluminium without the stupid plastic sides...
  21. well said Trevor the main dealers are there for one reason only and that is to empty your bank account as quickly as possible Rich
