Hi Steve and I also welcome you to the club.
I would also say you have a noisy wheel bearing and recomend you jack the car up
and spin the wheels and rock the wheel to see if there's any play to find the one thats the problem .???
Frank

Hi Daniel and welcome to the club I'm sure you will enjoy because we are a freindly bunch.
I think you will find once you have the same bulbs all round everything will be OK.

Hi Brian --- I think you should check The secondary junction box it is located on the
bulkhead in the LH side of the cabin near the ‘A’
post. It acts as a splice header to avoid having
numerous splices in the harness.
There could be a wire off or corrosion of some sort best to have a look .??Well worth a try all the best.???
I've been trying to get a diagram posted but up to now no luck .???

Hi Graham if I can just ask this---When you hold the tail pipe can you move it about --say about 2in or so
in other words does it move OK --or is it tight ?????
Frank
-
Hi Graham -- Welcome to the Club--You say you dont think its the exhaust but I seem to
think that I would check that the exhaust isnt touching the body anywhere????
or if you have a exaust mount thats too tight .???
And after that I would check the engine mountings .???
Just a thought.
Good luck

I would say its sure to be a balance on one of the wheels or a faulty wheel so I would
have them balanced again pehaps lost a weight or something .???

Sorry to hear that its so bad ---You said you only had the XF for a month before this problem showed
it seems to me as though it was there when you bought it and I think the garage should put it right ????
Is it the the same Jaguar Garage you bought it from who checked it and that said it would cost £5000.???
If it is I think you demand that they put it right .
Im no lawyer and do not really understand but dont just let them fob you off here.

Hi Michail
I had a very simular problem as you about 4 months ago and fitter who works on my car cured
it with no charge?? This is what he done====
key in ignition and on
drop window drivers door.
stand out-side the car with the door closed ignition still on
put hand into car and work the small locking lever thats just above the inside door handle
in and out a few times and if its really stiff squirt some WD40 into the handle and also the lock .??
work it again untill its free .??
Turn ignition off so it resets --window up and retry the locks with the Fob.??
He said if this dos'nt work its the door lock at fault .??
I hope this Helps.

I'm thinking the same as you Ian ---a door or the boot not closed fully --????

into your work on the fantastic looking MK10 it really sounds like a lot of work and dedication to the
job at hand and I wish you all the best with it so please keep us up to date with photo's etc

Hi Mark I think you will find that one of the inside door locks isnt returning
after its used ---could be any of the doors .???
I mean the small lever thats next to the inside door handles and you have
move it again with use????
They do tend to get sticky if not used much.
Frank
-
I don't know about jamming a peace of wood in because you could break it ???
Like I said stand out side the closed door with the window down reach through
and move the small lever in and out with a little WD-40 ???
Frank

Hi Gary
I have a X Type and I had a problem similar to yours but mine was the drivers door .??
I think the S Type is the same and has a small locking lever next to the inside door handle
well it was sticking ---So to cure it I was told to------
key in and ignition and on -drop the window --[the passengers side in your case]--and then
work the small lever a few times so it frees off ----Switch the ignition off and try the locks
if that cures it a small amount of WD-40 in the lock could be the answer ..?????
I hope this helps
Frank

Well Kenny that was a great result just think how much that will cost ??
 :D

Hi Nigel
Welcome to the club ---With your boot problem it sound like a faulty lock you have there
but I think the first thing to do is check that no debris is in the lock .????
Its easily done accidentally closing the boot and trapping a peace of cloth or something.???
The knocking noise I would say is one of your Suspension arms so a quick check on that if I
was you --they are about £20 on eBay and quite easy to fit .
All the best with them .

Hi Dave --personally I would say its your clutch presser plate that's the problem
Because I think if it was your gearbox you would still have a clutch.???
You said the clutch went hard --I think something broke in the plate and held the clutch out.???
--Or the thrust bearing.???
After saying all that --It could be your clutch master cylinder so I think the first thing I
would do is to see if its OK and not stuck out .??? Because that would be the cheapest thing first.???
Good luck ----Frank -
Hi Robin
Looks great and a good idea of yours to fix it like that because as you said no holes drilled .
Frank
-
One of the injectors I leaking .??
Frank
-
Hi Ben
Pehaps this is silly but have you changed the small fuel filter thats located by the
front right-hand coner of the fuel tank ---its no good blowing it out because to
be sure you need a new one ---that would give you this problem if it was partly
blocked .????
Frank
-
Hi Neil
I would say with out a doubt
you have a leaking injector when you stop the engine
it leaks dev into the cylinder then you start in the morning it burns the excessive
dev resulting in smoke then it would be OK all day when its in use or you would'nt
notice it .
Frank

Hi Ben
If you run out of fuel or for any reason fuel stops you neary always have to bleed
the injetors ===Just get someone to turn the engine on the key and at the same
time loosen the pipes on the injector untill there's a consant squirt and then tighten again
and if thats the problem that cylinder will fire.???

Hi Andy --You say its on the easy bank so if it was you I would put the old plugs back in and
if it runs OK again it would mean that one of your new plugs is breaking down under load
[ It does happen at times ??? ]--you can then change them one at a time to find the bad one
and get it exchanged.
All the best.
