  1. hi david welcome by the way to the pads & discs i agree with kenny its an easy d i y job to do. you may also want to try, Mtec for discs and pads i have used these for yrs and ive found them to be a very good all-round make disc + i use ebc ultra-max pads also a very good make of brake pad

  3. that's what id check first and maybe put some new rubber fig 8's on first the old one's may be a bit worn they are only a few £ or could be a heat shield rattle. not too sure about the s type hope this helps Julie regards ron

  5. i think you need to go back and get the invoice checked out that seems a hell of lot of money for little work this is just like when MR clutch wanted to charge me 1000 + shopped around and got it for 495 supply & fitted you have to watch some of these garages see a jaguar & up goes their prices. heres hoping she gives you many untroubled miles and you dont have to put your hand in your back pocket too often ron

  13. just to add my two pence worth i go from reading to oxford every day then return in rush hour traffic a round trip of 70 + miles each trip from a cold engine, and the 2.0 diesel in doing about 44- 50 mpg daily so cant gru grumble at that at all tbh Ron

Hi Robert its 5/30 part synthetic in my x type which is right for my car that's what it say's in my drivers hand book. i never put cheap oil in a car anyway ? always use a good brand of oil, not saying ford isnt a good brand but i've never used it so i cant comment. not sure for the s type,staff / member old peter may give you a better idea when he see's this post regards Ron
