Hi Rob, I am a big S type fan, hope to get one in month or two. I have read of a similar problem. Intermittent problems with air bag lights appearing , 3 beeps, not the horn sounding, quieter beeps. The problem in that case was the battery. He only did short trips after a good long run it cured the problem in his case. Do you just do short journeys? was the car standing for a long tome? Could be just low battery or need anew one possibly. Best Rgds, Julie.

Forgot to add Xf before 2010,only real reports occasionally seem to be faults with wiring in boot, affecting it closing and brake lights Warning lights stuck on, sat nav going off, cosmetic problems door trim loose. fuel cap jammed a few cases of turbo/air con problems but problems seem to occur well after 100k. but really seems a decent reliable car.

Hi Kevin, I had similar problem with my other cars (not XF) I Was able to solve mirror problem, causes was water ingress after rain or washing, WD 40 helped. Although have since read a silicone spray is better as does not gum up locks or moving parts. Spray and move it by hand. I have read If all of the door lock switches are functional but one door fails to operate, the most likely problem is an open circuit in the circuit between the switch and solenoid or a defective solenoid in the affected door. You should listen to the affected door while energizing the door lock. If a click is heard but the lock did not engage, a problem with the door lock mechanism or linkage is the most likely cause. I have also used WD40 on door hinges when they got stuck. On my X type I had problem with doors not locking and beeping, Occasionally the alarm went off as well that was key fob problem. I own an X type my self so not expert on XJ or XF but can tell you that both have a 4 out 5 star rating with What car for the XF they say What are the most common problems with a used Jaguar XF saloon? ... However, the nimble handling of the Jaguar is one thing, for passengers in the back, some comfort is sacrificed: even in the long wheelbase models rear headroom isn't as good as that found in the Mercedes or Audi. Stunning! She looks wonderful. That's a hard job working on the rigs. I bet it was a bit nerve wracking landing in poor conditions, I don't envy that, I get a bit worried when you get a bit of turbulence going on holiday.
